Watching his performance last night, and looking over his MMA record, Mike has always been about the KO. He had zero submissions as an MMA fighter. Yeah, his boxing debut didn't go well, but that was way back in 2015. Maybe he didn't train hard for it.

Who thinks Mike Perry would have done better as a boxer all along? I'm inclined to say, Yes.

His last few mma fights his skills seemed to regress. I think his personal life is whats his real problem, and I dont think he would get better at that part of his life if he was a boxer.

So ima go with a NO.

Dude can take a hit and give a hit, so he's suited to striking.

he got outboxed by Mickey Gall, fuck no... at one point he was top 15 WW, he was never going to be top 20 LHW, that Seals guy is 39 and looks washed, E. Alvarez is not top 5 and run through him

Perry seems suited to BKFC if i'm being honest.

    Hell no...

He's the type of fighter I feel sorry for... has to keep fighting to earn money but takes so much damage each fight.

By the end of his career, he's all types of fucked up and his body (and mind) won't be the same.

Not at all imho. First, it's not like he was some phenom striker with no TDD who got dominated by grapplers a-la-Condit. In fact, besides the Cerrone fight, he lost most of his fights on the feet.

Secondly, what exaclty do you mean by "better"? Perry did pretty well in mma for his level of skills. I think he was ranked at some point which is more than 99% mma fighters will ever achieve, and in terms of money and notoriety I highly doubt he would have done better in boxing.

Mike needs to find his place in the world. I for one think that place is the Backyard BBQ fight circuit.

Can't believe how many people are so openly talking down about a black MMA'er going boxing.

Was platinum supposed to fight Sakio Bika this weekend? I kept seeing Sakio's name in the media and then it changed to Seal?

Whatever happened, Mike is lucky he didn't have to fight Bika. That guy is awkward as fuck with a solid mandible.

He was a dumb guy to begin with. Unfortunately once he's unable to fight to make money I think we are going to be hearing bad things about him.
