As I'm currently living at my in-law's while the house is being built, I'm trying to occupy my time as much as possible. Being that the PS4 has a very limited library at the moment and there are some freaking sweet sales on consoles and games at the moment I'm starting to think that now is a perfect time to buy a PS3 of Xbox360.

The libraries are huge and the price is right. But how long will the last Gen actually go for before it becomes obsolete or all the good titles are ported to HD remakes for the PS4/Xbone?

Is it right to take the plunge or just fork out the extra dough for an even better gaming PC?

Get a second hand PS3/360, then when the price for PS4/XBone comes down to something halfway reasonable and has a decent catalog of games buy one of those too.

You can pick a used 360 for under $150.

It's a solid console now and they recently deleted the Gold requirement for some of the multi-media features, like Netflix.

So I guess... Yes?

Last gen was the most successful ever so don't expect them to fall from grace any time soon.

Im thinking about picking up a 360 myself
Nows the perfect time to get one cheap and then stock upon all the best games
By the time Im done with them all I figure the PS4 and/or Xbone will be cheaper with a full library
win win

Thats not yet. It kicks in June 9th.

As for you question TS.... Hell yeah pick up a PS3 or 360 now. If you never owned one you can seriously picks up enough great games that it will take you years to beat them all. Its a no brainer at this point imo.

If you can, hold your horses till E3. I'm fairly certain they will drop in price again. That seems to be the talk around the water cooler.

I'd say so. You can find some good deals from time to time. I paid $150 for a used 320GB PS3 with a game after my 60GB Fat one died.

I didn't buy many games during last gen. Now that they are cheap, I'm buying tons. Most of the games still hold up just fine. Now that Microsoft has dropped their Xbox Live bullshit, I would easily recommend a 360 or PS3 but I do think Sony had the better exclusives.

What I would do is get either a 360/ps3 and instead of upgrading to a PS4/XB1 I'd put money aside and upgrade your PC.

I am not a PC Master Race guy but you will get next gen visuals on PC whereas consoles are / will be limited by last gen hardware and its really difficult seeing them not supporting last gen console hardware for a long time

Picks up a PS3. Kickass blu-ray player, and a huge backlog of great games on the cheap.

This gen has been out for a while, what have you been playing all those years

TS, I suggest you buy a last gen console thinking about what will be your next-gen choice. By doing so, you'll be able to keep your friends and achievements.

Get a ps3, get plus and you are set.

I previously had a PS3 but traded it in towards a PS4 - should've been a little clearer. I kinda regret it! The sales are making me want to jump back in or maybe even make a small switch to the 360 so I can play through the Witcher 2.

To be honest, I've got the cash for a new gaming rig but don't know if it's worth the investment as the reality of it is, I've never experienced PC gaming.

Last night I was seeing the ME trilogy and Batman games for like $20ea on PS3 - stupid, stupid cheap!

if you're not pressed for a now-gen console, than why not? The 360 and PS3 have insane libraries.

There's so many great PS3 games I've still never even gotten around to. I've got Red Dead Redemption just sitting here.. For like 3 years.. I've never touched it, but I mean to eventually.

$150????

you can get one for like $50-$100

not trying to sound like a fanboy, but if you go last gen, get a ps3 over a 360.. #1 you won't be required to pay to play online, and #2 if you do want to pay, PS+ gives you a shitload of free games every month.. It's a far better pay-service than XBL..
