As far as I'm aware the dude is not a Canadian citizen, maybe a resident, but you can't represent a country if you're not a citizen.

Born in France, it's a bit of a stretch letting a guy be "Canadian" just because he has trained in Montreal a few years.

Quebec isn't part of Canada and GSP is considered Canadian.

TUF teams aren't national teams representing a national sport federation ... is a way to just group fighters that train and live in a certain nation, even if they just relocated there.

Btw Taleb moved to Montreal 7 years ago, and you need just 3 years of residency to apply for the canadian citizenship: http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/citizenship/become-eligibility.asp
... and both Canada and France allow dual citizenship

James Wilks won UK vs USA for the UK even though he lives in, trains in, and even was in the US army.

He's been living here for a while. This isn't the Olympics for crying out loud. According to wikipedia he's a Canadian citizen, so who knows.

You're a moron. Please refrain from posting about this topic in the future.

let me guess, valentino petroscu wasn't born in the UK either?

Valentino had a pretty thick British accent, if he was born in Romania he clearly spent the majority of his life in England and was a citizen.

Taleb was born in France, and only moved to Quebec recently, his accent is nothing like a Quebec accent.
Maybe he is a citizen now, I'm just curious.

Sure it's not the Olympics, but still it is a competition.

lol it's a marketing strategy by the UFC.

And Nordine is a Canadian citizen. Yes, a naturalized Canadian, but a citizen nonetheless. you brought up the Olympics example, how many olympians per year get solicited by USA or other first world countries to represent them? Many get their citizenship requests fast tracked. Canada does this too btw, but so does Australia.

nordine running for PM? :icon_chee

Wait....what? Do you live in Earth-2 where Quebec won the vote to secede from Canada? Because if not, you're a moron.

just found a couple of source.

One says that Valentino is born in Bucarest: SOURCE 1

Another one says that he's born in Italy from romanian parents lol: SOURCE 2

... about passports mind that Italy doesn't has Ius Soli, it doesn't give you the citizenship just because you're born there but first you get your parents nationalities, and after 10 years you can apply for the italian passport.
