Is Nate Diaz an all time great?

Not sure why this got sent to the wasteland. Nate is a legend of the sport, he's a great but maybe not an all time great. He has some really impressive wins over Prime Cerrone, Prime MJ, Prime Conor. A lot guys have big names on their record but how many were in their primes.

Although these are all great wins and very impressive, he also lost to Hermes Franca, Clay Guida, Joe Stevenson and Gray Maynard, far from world beaters.

Do you even watch the fights?

Yes, and I remember he lost the rematch, got KTFO by Josh Thompson and clowned by RDA and Bensen Henderson.

He and his brother are among my favorite fighters because of their styles and their attitudes. They're so fun to watch. But Nate's record sucks against top competition.

CHoked out the so called " GOAT " but gets no credit for it some reason... Shertards pretend it didn't happen. Truth is Nate Diaz is dangerous enough to finish anybody now days.

he gets a lot of credit for it/.

his record says he not a goat

Definitely an all-time great. Dude's had a lot of wars, brought a lot of energy and emotion into fights that people normally would've never originally tuned in for, made MMA even more exciting. Just wished he looked up to someone other than Nick as far as self-promotion goes. He could've had a lot more iconic fights instead of just the same ol' newbs referring to his Conor RNC pic.

but he lost a lot of those fights 2

Nah. He's a great fighter for sure, but all time great is a big stretch. Along with "legend" it's one of the most thrown around terms in MMA to the point that its practically lost meaning. A few people here are calling him a legend; what about Nate's career is really legendary? He's been marred by inconsistency throughout his career, he has some great wins and some pretty lackluster losses. There's still time for him though, if he ever decides to actually fight again.

The best win he had, he lost the rematch after staggering his opponent - instead of following up and finishing a second time, he just kept up his slow, plodding pace. He's never held a UFC title, his record is kinda bad - if he were in GOAT talks, his record might be the worst one in the discussion, next to Mark Hunt - but to Hunt's credit, his losses were to a murderer's row and he didn't even train for those fights.

Mark Hunt wouldn't even sniff the GOAT talks either.

Nice shot. Do you have any of him being suplexed repeatedly by Rory?

Diaz is nowhere near an all-time great. He's a journeyman UFC fighter with a .500 record. Just because you talk alot of shit and get alot of press doesn't make you an all-time great. This is a silly discussion.

He's a great, to me, the same way Don Frye, TRTor, BJ, and the likes are greats. Sure, they had their strings of losses, but they're insanely entertaining and threw it out there. Diego Sanchez is the best example of my point - he lost quite a bit of fights, but go back and watch some of those fights. Can't help but respect their heart.

You can't both claim McGregor sucks but also that Nate is awesome for beating him. Sorry.

No. Cant adapt game and whines when someone doesnt play his....

came across this tread on google somehow.

Was TS on some heavy drugs at the time? The guy has 11 losses and not even 2 wins for every loss. How does anyone consider that great, fighters like that are dime a dozen.

He might be entertaining, but dude is not even above average, let alone great. His records yells that out
