Is Mortal Kombat: Annihilation the best bad movie ever made?

As I was sitting around waiting for the fights to start yesterday, I decided on the fly to watch this piece of shit. Having seen it when I was in junior high, I remembered that is was a terrible film. But, it had been so long, and I didn't really remember anything specific about it other than it was bad, so I gave it a shot.

All I have to say is, if you're a fan of bad movies, you're in for a treat.

Although the first film isn't exactly a classic of serious cinema, the filmmakers did seem to take it seriously, at least. This sequel though, they apparently decided to take in a different route. The characters are like they're straight from a Saturday morning cartoon show, straight down to Shao Khan (Brian Thompson from Cobra) laughing like he's Gargamel about to eat some Smurfs. In order to travel across the world in a timely manner, they do so inside large balls, kinda like that ones from American Gladiators, except these allow Raiden to almost sexually assault Sonya Blade (who is hotter in this film than in the first, so that may have had something to do with it).

The SPX are among the worst in cinematic history. Seriously.

Then Liu Kang, who is supposed to be the champion that saves the Earth, has like 10 minutes of screen time during the first 4/5 of the film, but shows up to save the day at the end. Fuck a spoiler, you all know how it ends.

Is there a worse film out there that is so enjoyable? I was always partial to Troll 2 myself, but I have to say, I enjoyed this schlockfest infinitely more.

Shao Kahn was way too small

Raiden didnt have his hat

They turned Jade into an asian woman

Johnny Cage died in the 1st 10 minutes

RAIDEN AND SHAO KAHN ARE NOT BROTHERS AND SHINNOK ISNT THEIR DAD!!!!

Scorpion and Sub-Zero are the 2 most popular characters, yet they only appear in one scene

Noob Saibot was only in it for like 2 seconds

The put Motaro, who is the worst character in MK history, in the fucking movie

What about Baraka lasting about a minute? Rain not even having a fight and just mentioning Kabal and Stryker? Or, so supposed Native American saying "Pretty cool, huh?" YOU JUST TURNED FROM A WOLF TO A MAN AND ALL YOU CAN SAY IS "Pretty cool, huh?!"

I dunno about Motaro being the worst, I'd say Mokap and Meat are pretty bad. But, back on topic, this goes to show how bad MK: Annihilation is, I went to see it in the cinema with my dad, and he fell asleep, through all the fight scenes, shit blowing up, music that was too loud etc, he still managed to fall asleep. Also, I'm glad that TS brought up American Gladiators, seeing as there was at least two guys in the film who were from American Gladiators.

Now, I LOVE that this thread has been made, I love "So Bad They're Good" Movies. Some that need to be looked at are

The Room
Hercules in New York
Crank 2 (so ridiculous, it's amazing)
Undefeatable (google "Undefeatable Something for Free" and "Best Fight Scene Ever")

True story... This movie came out when I was like 13.

I went to see it opening day. The animated movie Anistasia was released the same day. There was a line out the door to get tickets. My friends and I thought everyone was there to see Mortal Kombat, because why wouldn't they be?

Then when we went to get in line to enter the theater, we found out there was a seperate line for Mortal Kombat, consisting of just 3 middle aged asian men.

There were only 6 of us there, on opening day. I thought it was awesome.
