So since mma is competition that will be filled with athletes that started careers in other sports,it needs to attract said talents over from those sports.(boxing kickboxing grappling wrestling etc)

Do you think that we are even close to witnessing the best talents the world has to offer, making the move to mma,or are we fighting over who is the GOAT from a collection of people who just happened to step in the octagon?

No way.

UFC doesn't offer the money that other major sports organizations do.

Not even close. When you think that a highly limited moron like Broner can earn more in one fight than someone as talented as say Rory McDonald can earn in 15-20 fights, what would you pick when you get paid to get your head punched?

Just because someone is an athlete doesn't mean that they are built to fight. You can't just interchange the interests because of athletic skill.

I think It's unwise to assume that. As we know it, MMA doesn't have boxing or whatever other big sport's money. Money brings the best talent and that's a fact.

Of course not,its always going to get better though.

No the sport is still in it's infancy

LOL no elite athlete over the height of 6ft is targetting MMA as number 1 goal

Ask Schuab or Mitrone who they would rather play/fight for.

I dont mean that.My point is that all the fighters today come from somewhere else.So i am wondering how close we are to witnessing all the fighting potential, that is out there making the move to joining the ufc/mma.

No, but the finish line is finally there. At least now great athletes can test themselves if they choose. Small steps

UFC still attract C-level athletes.

No. So many talents from all over dont come in. Rocco is coming over, but to where? Aka will help alot with his development. But there are alot of talents not coming over from ncaa wrestling. There are freaks all over. Most talent from boxing had been at it for quite some time. The elite will always stay there and there are so many more weight classes in boxing.

So there is really no point in us discussing GOAT so emphatically and passionately. We get people who are willing to fight to the death for next to nothing, because they have nothing better to do...

Europe should be the hotspot to target. Much larger population than North America, other than rugby which is played in a select few countries there aren't many sports suited towards people of a LHW or HW build. They don't fit in in soccer which dominates the continent, so there are potentially far more elite, large athletes in Europe than North America with little sporting recourse available, maybe basketball if they're really tall and skinny or else niche sports like strongman. In general though there's a huge amount of athletic talent going to waste.

When I say no sporting recourse, they probably are playing a sport like soccer, but their body type just isn't suited to the game so they likely would never develop the skills necessary to go pro.

Cody Mckenzie is all i have to say
