This similarly reminds me of the Anderson/Seagal connection. Turned out Anderson was trolling:

In the past few months Conor has been pretty vocal about this "zen" state and emphasis on this type of movement. Even Dana (and fighters) in the latest UFC Embedded Ep.5 was suprised with Conor.

How far does Conor's fixation with Ido Portal/"zen"/movement/dancing go? Is it a fad, or do you think we will be seeing a whole lot more of this type of stuff from him? Or are we being trolled...

No. He was talking about movement before he got into the UFC.

Watching the embedded episodes made the guys routines look pretty cool. Nothing wrong with mobility exercises. The dudes website is a bit much though...

I know that. But it seems he has taken it to another level now. Having Ido Portal around him and watching the weird shit on the beach & dancing routines etc.

Conor has had 2 serious knee injuries, it has made him question his training and investigate ways to make his body less injury prone.

What Conor's doing will benefit him greatly, I have no doubt about that, but it's not like he's replacing his combat training with this stuff.

Haven't checked out his website, but I did read on r/MMA that he has a pretty bad rap on one of the sub-forums

Some of the excersises look legit like they would help him with footwork and angles if applied correctly. Some of it just looks like a complete waste of time though

Yes, but is Gunnar Nelson contractually obliged to go along with it for the purposes of the camera, or is he genuinely into it too? If he was any more zen he'd be dead.

HaHa. I think Gunnar is so laid back he's just like "Yeah ... whatever, I'll give it a try ... I guess"

Yeah it seems like a huge troll job. No doubt he's using this guy to keep himself limber while not training but I'd doubt this is some kind of major philosophical change in his approach to fighting.

if you dont see the benefit of this kind of movement training then youre ignorant

you sir, are using far too much logic for these boards....I must politely ask you to stop that shit lol:cool:

No idea what is going on with that...all I know is the Ido douche makes me want to smash thing every time I see him doing something idiotic on Embedded.

You know what? I take it back, I DO think Conor is trolling us with this dipshit. All of the sudden I want Conor to lose is spectacular fashion lol.

It's probably real. He's a big fan of working unconventional meuvemint to avoid being stook in da muud.
