Is McGregor injured, and rather than pull out of the Diaz fight, he has claimed to retire?

Conor McGregor never stops going on about fighters dropping out of fights, even if they did so long before he was in the UFC.

It sounds farfetched, but it wouldn't surprise me. McGregor's ego his own worst enemy. McGregor pulling out of the Diaz fight would look really bad for him.

he talked so much smack about fighters pulling out of fights....he needs to find something that don't make him look bad!

I'm waiting for him to call and let me know any second.

I'll report back.

Could be a ploy Dana and UFC set up. GSP might be on board for a Connor fight. UFC sees $$$ and has a pretend "disagreement", where for the first time ever, Dana does not get mad at the fighter. Lines up a new fight for Nate. Dana and Connor make up and GSP vs Connor is set for UFC 200. Minds are then blown.

Hey it's far fetched but I've never seen Dana this calm about anything especially if it was this big.

Because he would go through the trouble to hide an injury by announcing his retirement ?

makes no sense

Retiring makes him look even worse. It makes him look like a sore loser who's running away from the sport.

since when has McGregor been one to make up elaborate excuses? He strikes me as someone who embraces being transparent. Ommitting some details - maybe - but going off the god damn reservation in order to get around having to pull out?

After seeing him post Stockton slap victim turned panic wrestler turned Connor Face Meme, i began to actually like him. I think he really does have a warriors spirit and values the grind and being a fighter... Nate even said as much regarding WHY Connor wanted him again at the same weight; To attempt to avenge a loss, even at the expense of tarnishing his record by getting another W on it.

Him turning into a panic wrester was far more hypocritically embarrassing than if he had to pull out of a fight due to injury.
