He was already the first against Jones. Anyone can confirm this information about Weidman?
Didn't Bonnar take a round before Lyoto?
Nice one haha, Jones reference.
Yes TS I believe that is the case, Lyoto is the first and I believe only so far.
"Chris Weidman def. Demian Maia by Split Decision (29-28, 28-29, 29-28)"
Supposedly that was a mistake in the announcement and Weidman was the unanimous winner, but Maia was given rounds.
Ugh. I've tried to forget that fight. That third round was hard to watch.
Bonnar won the third against Jones. Jones was lucky it wasnt a 5 rounder.
the judges gave jones round 1 against machida. machida didnt win a
rashad won a round agains jones tho
It looks like he beat Sakara 30-27 according to wikipedia but I could have sworn Sakara won the first round. I remember him outstriking Weidman that round.
He didn't win the first round against Jones.
Really? I thought rd1 vs jones was clearly lyoto's.
But thx for the info, guys
[Shrug] personally I agree with you. However I believe the other posters are overstating it as the judges split on who won the 1st round.
Not according to the judges but cmon now.
It was a mistaken announcement. Simply checking Sherdog's Fight Finder or FightMetric will show this (or even either fighter's Wiki pages which pull their info from SD's Fight Finder anyway, but Wiki pages are editable to the public if they're not locked).
