I mean the guy is obviously a very good fighter but people are completely not interested in him i really don't get why, sure he's not the most exciting fighter but his following is super low even by a "boring fighter standarts".

Would it be better if he chosen to fight? Truth be told rda is a good win but its not like he was a number one classifier match i really can't remember a carrer suicide like this one, nick diaz probably did something close to that but he at least was a big name when he trew his carrer away

As long as he’s healthy and training he will be back sooner or later and getting that win he needs to for title shot. UFC WW Division is currently overwhelmingly Duck heavy.

I like Leon but he is as far from the UFC's pulse as can be apparently.

If people can get brain washed by Chael then they'll soak up all the bs from Colby, masvidals mouth.. That's why ppl like Edward's get disrespected, a lot of casual fans aren't the brightest bulb outta the box

Not really accurate. He was supposed to fight multiple times last year but they all fell out. he was supposed to headline a London card against Woodley right as all travel was shutting down. He was then locked down in England, then he got Covid, then Chimaev got Covid, that fight's been cancelled 3 times. He offered to stay on the card and fight Magny or Chiesa, UFC said no.
Granted he's not the best at promoting himself, but he's also had terrible luck.

How so? Masvidal and him have a built in story and Jorge won't fight him. Colby just ducked him for whatever reason you want to assume. Khamzat is legitimately sick. He couldn't leave his country when the pandemic started and lost a fight. Then it kept getting pushed back. Do you guys even know what you're talking about? Lol.

Could have said the same thing about Khabib not too long ago. He was undefeated but went a long time without fighting and he didn't have a huge following. Then a few fights fell through and tiramisu happened and all that.

But then he fought again and won the belt and beat Conor and the rest is history. There's always time to turn a stalled career around, just fight and win.

Leon Edwards never had anything to "suicide". His best win is a washed up lightweight who was chased out of the LW division.

The guy has to pay his bills obviously.

Had a fight cancelled due to covid travel restrictions early into the covid era. Then three fights cancelled since then, in which his opponent pulled out twice.

Try trolling harder with your next account.
Dude hasnt fought in like 2 years

Its my acc didnt bother creating one till today. only reason he took that khamzat fight was cause he was dropped out of rankings

Zabit says no

This move makes very little sense. At least beating a hype train like Chimaev could open a door and get you some eyes from hardcores, but beating...Belal Muhammed? What does that get the man, except a paycheck?

They used to say the same thing about Kamaru. As long as Leon keeps winning, he'll end up fighting for the title. Belal should be an easy decision W for him

Leon gets a lot of undeserved hate I blame his accent and lisp and well the rise of street jesus.
I think Leon could beat everyone in WW except for Usman on the right day, but who knows what he looks like now Belal is a good test and I personally think it is a good move that a lot of other fighters should also take. Fighting an "easier" fight can be good to get back in rhythm and maybe analyze some flaws in ones game. Boxing does it all the time, and Belal is not some 60% wr fighter from a regional scene.
