Buakaw in K-1 supposed to be a big thing. Last event did not deliver for me. So what's next? Buakaw vs. Kehl final would be the end?

honestly I'm not even being sarcastic, but k1 ended when the original org went out of biz. 4 good fights and the rest filler. Why even bother anymore to put on these events, what reason would they not have at least a glory style 4 man tournament. If Buakaw wasn't in it no one would watch except hardcore fans.

Lol did you see the velcro gloves, what is going on. I can only assume they have a limited amount of gloves and the fighters have to share like in amateur events. All in all k1 is just a massive let down or joke.

Buakaw fights Kehl and that would end the "tournament" and then onto the next tournament I am assuming with a bunch of not very well known fighters since all the major names and top talent is basically entirely in glory.

it might as well be. ive given up all hope on it

The fact that their 2013 World MAX GP won't be decided until mid 2014 should tell you something. They really need to get their act together if they want to stay in business. They need to work on TV deals for the US and Europe [Especially in Europe where Kickboxing has a larger fanbase]They need to do something to get some solid revenue going and attract some solid investors.

At this rate I wouldn't be surprised if GLORY doesn't buy them out by the end of the year. GLORY already owns the video rights to K-1's glory days so they might as well own it lock, stock and barrel.

when they said the grand prix finals would be in new york, and then cancelled it without an announcement,k1 could fuck off forever imo.

The promotion/marketing is rubbish. Noone knows when the next events are, The production is bad and some of the fighters on the main card are complete novices

Golden glory did a big mistake when they named thier promotion GLORY. They should have bought k-1 brand when it means something, not only a joke. k-1 brand is still way more known in world than ufc, pride, glory all at once, but in this moment they are a joke and people don't take this brand serious anymore.

k-1 had all these WGP Local tournaments. WGP Regional Tournamnets. Final 16 WGP. Final 8 WGP. The name. The logo. The music. The PR. And of course most of thier events were held in Asia, when the atmosphere/feeling was incredible. The fans, The entrance, the light, fire special effect show, the the girls, the japanese ring announcers. That was mad.

They tried, they couldn't. People running Glory aren't stupid. Obviously they wanted to start off with the established K-1 name but that fell through so they went on without.

I don't get the people on this forum at all. Yokkao and K-1 getting shit from people for seemingly running a stable enough organizations but because they aren't throwing huge moneyburner shows they are shit. Then Legend being raised to be something awesome for kickboxing when all they are doing is burning money with no future in sight. Stability is hugely underrated here.

After Buakaw vs Kehl, it is the end of K1 brand. Its value is the same as local event,
if some big names are in I will watch it, if no big name then no thanks.

I agree with the fact that these shows need to have a realistic financially driven product, but there are certain things that they have done poorly that you can't just blame on finances. I mean really, in the China K-1 show you had the coach of a fighter refereeing a match he was in. You don't even see that kind of fuckery in amature smoker events.

The biggest complaint against Yakkao is that they have the ability to stream their events but don't do so and not only that they straight up don't even give you the ability to watch the event non live.

Live streaming from Thailand can be a pain in the ass, i just don

Actually they sold the rights (they gave their word and shook hands) to Glory first but within 24 hours they changed their mind and sold it to Mr. Kim.

My guess is Mr. Kim lost a lot of money with the previous events so he is doing what he can given his limited resources.

K-1 is not dead, but at this point its popularity is at rock bottom.

Good pount, never thought of that.

It's not dead it just sucks , you need to move on from what your memory tells you K-1 is and realize that now it's something different

unfortunately yes

i have been following this Max tournament but only interested in 1 or 2 other fights on the cards

What was the decision behind breaking up the actual tournament? I was looking at the final 4 videos trying to find the actual final but it didn't happen on that card????

Buakaw vs Khel will be another one sided beating and hopefully Buakaw will sign with Glory, even Cro Cop left K1 despite them gift wrapping a tourney for him

I havnt given up on it, but I'm not necessarily excited when they announce an event. It's kinda like "Hey cool, another event I can watch, hope it's entertaining". If they didn't have Buakaw, I'd watch their events like I would an Enfusion event; hoping to see decent fights, but not expecting a whole lot... then again it's sort've how I watch them now. The production quality is comparable too.

Yeah, perfect format.
