I think so.

Fighters can only take so many BRUTAL knockouts before their chin is gone. Izzy had a brutal KO loss in Kickboxing and was Tko and damaged heavily in his MMA fight with Alex.

Hendo lost his chin aftee the first Vitor KO

Chuck lost his chin after the Rashad and Rampage KOs. His chin was severly weakened by rampage though hence Jardine and Wanderelei dropped him.

Rockholds chin died from the knockout he got from Bisping

Could be, mark hunt lost his chin against melvin manhoef.
Once the damage is done, there aint no turning back.
 
Izzy didn't lose his chin when he was KO'd the first time by him, doubt it'll matter.

But do consider Pereira could've also accumluated chin damage, after 2 times of being badly rocked but recovering.
I have no medical idea but I assume that it's bad for the brain and chin to get rocked and resume fighting, taking more shots for several minutes without a full break.
Getting KO'd is worse but a quick KO at least means the fight is over and you don't have to resume taking more damage for several minutes.

It is worse to be rocked I am positive because Joe Rogan said with a KO or Tko your brain shuts off you get rest. With accumulated damage and not being KOd you just get constant mini concusions and brain cells lost.

However with that said every fighter with a solid chin only lost his chin after he got brutally KOd 1x or 2x.

It took Chuck 2x KOs to lose his chin for good
It took Hendo 2x KO losses to lose it for good
It took Rockhold 2 KO losses to lose it for good

Etc

Izzy has had one brutal KO and has been getting rocked since it. And got Tkod recently.
 
could happen. then again he hasn't taken a ton of damage overall, and he's not terribly hittable. guess we'll see.
 
He has 100 combat sports fights.

1 ko I am aware of.

And his last fight was a tko where he took heavy head shots in 4 Oz gloves from a hard hitting kickboxing world champ.
And never went down.

What would be the evidence of his chin suddenly being shot?

all these guys had an established history of blocking punches with their face

Well by all means, please share these examples.

Only time I remember seeing him wobbled was when he ate a headkick in the Kelvin Gastelum fight, which was like 3-4 years ago.

That's 2 times he got wobbled in 14 ufc fights, 9 title fights.
