The Dragon walked around between 200-206lbs when he fought at LHW. His opponents were around 220-230 on fight day.

When he moved to middleweight, he went on a diet and walks around at 185-190 and fights at 185lb.

Here is 205lb Lyoto fighting 220lb Phil Davis

Chris Weidman was at 204lbs the day he fought 185lb Machida. That's right - Weidman weighed the same as what Machida did when he was fighting at LHW.

I feel Machida looks really weak at 185lbs. If he stays there, he'd be better off at walking around at 200lbs and just cutting weight like most everyone else to make 185lb, then be back to 200lbs on fight night.

Let it go Machida fans.

inb4 the 155lb champion Machida era!

I really can't see Machida making 170. There is no shame in playing second fiddle to Jones and Weidman at this stage in Machida's career.

Machida ain't a small dude. I really dont see how he makes 170. He's already really lean at 185. Weidman really is that good, Machida is probably #2 at MW.

I don't think you guys are understanding the OP. I'm saying Machida needs to bulk back up to around 200lbs and cut weight to 185lbs the day before the fight. This is what Weidman and most other middleweights do.

do you have a proof of these statements ??

That's not true, were do you took that information from? When did you see Machida weigh in at 200 pounds? He was cutting weight when he was at 205 and he's probably 200-195 pounds now. And bulk up? He looks huge in 205, or at least the same size his opponent are but ripped. White belt

LOL, I love reading shit like this on Sherdog.

Sherdoggers are always constantly wanting to claim to know every fighters walk around weight.

It's seriously funny shit.

Machida was a UFC champ very few can say this. He still has good fight left in him just not going to be champ and none of those fight will be at 170.

I really do not believe that Machida weighed 185-190 on fight day.

At the very least 195

Machida used to weigh in at 202 and 204 when he was a LHW. If he was cutting weight, why would he bother going below 205lbs ?

Yes - he mentions in interviews that he prefers to walk around at his fighting weight

Perhaps he knows his own body and knows that he performs better when he doesn't cut weight---ever consider that?
