Is it possible for a normal human to fight at a high level of MMA without PEDS?

Since there are a ton of threads being started about so many UFC fighters not being "clean," I'm starting to wonder if this sport is even possible without PEDS for a normal person that simply trains their ass off? Do you think it's possible for someone of average genetic stalk to be able to fight someone balls out for 15 or sometimes 25 minutes by simply training for many years, or are these individuals that can do it without science incredibly unique to the point that the bulk of people in this sport could never compete with them without drugs. Sometimes I think that without PEDS, there would only be a handful of fighters in each weight class capable of putting on entertaining fights that lasted more than a round or so.

The girls do it and most of them probably aren't roided up, so yes.

I imagine there is a mix

But average guy.. Not for as long or as hard as someone who has taken them.

Tis kind of the whole point of it in the first place. Some People need a pay day and stay relevant. Some are plain cheaters, then you've got a mix of people who go clean. Who knows.

I'm rambling again.

i honestly don't believe so, i think the physical training alone that theses guys go through every day for weeks/months is too much for the body to handle without some help. at least that's my opinion.

It is possible. I think the PEDs help most with training. I used to train BJJ and lift weights and my body was exhausted and I quickly started over training within a month or two. This was doing BJJ 3x a week and lifting weights 2x a week.

I hear some fighters say they're training 2-3x a day and I don't understand how thats possible unless your strictly hitting the bag or working technique.

As many careers won't last as long... but other than that, absolutely possible.

GSP probably managed it.

Probably not. And the assumption that female MMA fighters aren't on PED's is absolutely ridiculous.

In 2015, it is not even possible for a normal human to fight at a high level of MMA with PEDs. Everyone in the top 10 in every male division is genetically gifted, even if it is not obvious to the human eye like Roy Nelson.

However, in a world without PEDS, I don't think the cardio/endurance would suffer that much. I know EPO is a common drug, but realistically anyone who dedicates their life to training should be able to go 3 rounds.

If anything, if there were not any PEDs, I think that we would see more cardio machines like the Diaz brothers.

Baby Jay cannot. For years, he has only been able to go 7 minutes hard. Around the Fitch fight is a good example

you should change your question to include age as a factor

you probably don't need any additional edge (beyond your training, nutrition, etc) when you are 23 years old.

Yes while they are 20-30 years old.

After that ... testosterone in men declines every year.

You get slower, weaker and overall less energetic naturally so many take PEDs to give them that energy boost to compete like if they were still in their 20s.

As screwed up and amateurish as much of MMA training seems to be, many of them would probably be too scared to use them thinking they would suddenly turn into men.

If you think GSP's physical ability and skill was attained without artificial enhancement, you're delusional. Throwing around a 200-pound Thiago Alves in the middle of his prime isn't a matter of technique. There are things you simply can't do with your body unless you take something illegal.

Of course, because that's how PED's work.

Why else would he demand 3rd party testing?

I do think some of them are clean.

I think if the sport cleans itself up, it will come out for the most part in champion reigns that don't last as long.
