Is it normal to get nervous before big UFC fights?

Nervous? If one of my faves is fighting I get true can't-stand-to-watch-this, have-to-look-away-from-the-tv anxiety!!

In 3 hours i will be awake for 24 hours.

and I tried to sleep.

Yeah there are a couple fighters where I get that nervous feeling. I don't freak out if they end up getting rekt or anything but while they are fighting I'm pretty nervous

Yes, if i really want a specific fighter to win, the possibility of them losing is unsettling.

but when you really want a fighter to win and they do in dominated fashion it's the best feeling.

I Slept like a dream when robbie won the belt and when edgar smoked swanson.

yeah, if it's someone I really want to win. It's just as bad if it's someone I want to lose.

Last one for me was Silva-Weidman 2.

I just can't stand the narcissism of Jones and hope DC smashes him.

It's normal, it just shows that you care about the sport.
That you "have" to get drunk sounds a bit problematic, but I get nervous as shit before certain UFC events and football matches when I care about the fighters/teams. It's a bit weird and unpractical really, since it doesn't really affect me either way, but it's a cultural thing. It's not like I have to be nervous about not having food or being chased down by a predator.

I wonder if soldiers or firefighters and stuff still get nervous when their team plays?

Unicorn princess, would a unicorn princess get nervous? Stop being a wuss and start acting like a real unicorn princess

Yup, happens to me all the time, especially with my favorite fighters, the feeling only intensifies as the fight is about to start. When Bruce Buffer starts announcing their names and they stare down in the middle of the cage, fuuuuckkkkkk, peak nervousness right there. It's a great feeling though to get that excited for something even if it sucks if the fighter you're rooting for loses, but so awesome when they win. WAR DC!

Used to get a lot of nervous energy before watching gsp fight because he's my favourite

some guys are just bigger fans. they have better lives anyway, but they're just bigger mma fans than you.

..... and yeah, some sherdoggers might just have no life. imagine that. Now, if you'll excuse me, I've got some deviant pornography in another tab that needs my attention here, at 11am on this weekday.

lol

It's the opposite for me, I'm more emotionally invested now than I was a few years ago.

I as well. If cards are "watered down" then that means when there are good matchups, its rare, therefore more is riding on not only the outcome but the fight itself. For instance, silva breaking his leg was anti climatic and left me empty. It boggles the heart and mind that anyone could've found joy in watching that shit. Especially when silva gave away the first fight. Nothing to glorify in that shit.

With jones and dc, ill be pissed beyond any either fighter winning if someone doesn't make weight, someone gets hurt in the fight, or someone gets tired way too fast. Now, if none of those happen, then anticipation is not only met, but increased!

I could get drunk sure, but then I dont remember the fights.

Probaby for me more anxiousness than anything. There have been some fights especially those where I had big dollars on it or so much more support of one fighter over the other. It's a feeling you want to have. I recall some of the big boxing matches where I had that feeling. It's the anticipation of it finally happening and the nervousness of what will actually happen.

Pretty sure it is! The most nervous I got from a fight was probably the Wanderlei Silva vs Stann fight.

that rollercoaster of being anxious and nervous shows up mostly during an important fight
