When someone opens his hand? I guess it is really difficult to catch it though.
 
Probably not a bigger waste of energy out there than for a fighter to spend time trying to punch the fingers of another. It would be hard to accomplish, would do no damage and open the person up for brutal counters (assuming you're talking about JBJs fingers).
 
I'm sure its legal. Foot/toe stomps are legal, don't see why I can't elbow your hand in

May be worth it to go after his wrist with an elbow strike.

Shatter his wrist and fight is over, drive a knee into his elbow, etc.
