And we are going to cover how Conor adjusted and countered this with hellacious body punching, but first off.
1. Nate resorted to trying to hulk through Conor with a high guard BECAUSE HE WAS GETTING COUNTER FUCKED SO BADLY
2. NATE COULD go into a high guard and attempt to "hulk through" Conor because he HAD THE SIZE AND CHIN to do so.
No other LW would have the qualities to do the same
Keep in mind Nate was STILL EATING hellacious counters from Conor in his "guard up hulk through" phases
Again Nate simply had the chin and size
Keep In mind NATE ONLY HAD success with this twice in a 25 min fight (at the end of the 2nd and the end of the 3rd)
And the only ever reason WHY Nate was even able to start this off the first time was because Conor tried a side kick and was pushed off balance
Conor in clinch sutuations either neutralizes, controls, gets off offence, elbows or circles off the cage and counters
Conor rarely ever even lets it get to that point with his slick footwork, lateral movement, and matrix counter sniping, but if/when it does get to that point then the Nate rematch proved how Conor is just as skilled and as slick there as he is any where else

After Conor jab feints to open up body punching combinations, Conor TIES Nate up and smoothers him. Conor has now KILLED off any possible offence from Nate
Conor will either tie up a persuing opponent to stiffle
OR Conor will punch into clinch and smoother - never allowing his opponents to do anything back

I never argued that conor doesn't throw body shots. I've just never seen him stop someone with body shots, and if he has, it's very rare.

Nate Vs Conor is not a good comparison, Nate is happy to box with someone, Khabib is only interested in using strikes to close distance to grab hold of you, if Conor has enough power and can maintain his distance, he might be able to inflict enough damage to slow and sap Khabib's strength and cardio but if Khabib gets hold of Conor in the first 2 rounds, he's going to be the one grinding out Conor's energy on the mat........ Really, neither fighter has faced an opponent like the other......

You can defend Conor's hands with a takedown.
Conor is good at keeping distance, so the td won't be easy. Khabib will have to come in range to get a TD and Conor just needs one good shot to hurt him. Conor should be better than ever after fighting and training for Floyd. I'd give him the edge.
