International Is Israel an asset or liability for America?

No. Isreal is a problematic in terms of lobbying in the U.S. and it buying politicians and there will be blowback with the U.S. not preventing genocide. It has been like this for a long, long time. Jimmy Carter warned of Israel's undo influence of U.S. politics. Why should they ever play nice or make peace with they are given billions in weapons and aid every year by the U.S.?

They came to the table and made sincere efforts to formalize a two state solution in ‘37, ‘48, 2001, and 2007….In 2007, they even got their right of return wish granted up 15,000 Palestinians returning to Israel too besides a formal Palestinian State with unlimited right of return to it as well.

Making peace would help stabilize the region and ease their rivalries with Iran as a regional hegemony.

they have a strong narrative and have established themselves as the totem pole of western society for which most of our history doesn't make sense without

As far as being alienated by Muslim nations....that is a ship that has already sailed. We are the white Devil to many of these nations. Live by the Koran or die. We only have a hope with the least indoctrinated that have Western influences.
If anything it's the opposite, the secular republics like Iraq, Syria, and Libya were staunchly anti-Western while the most religiously conservative countries like the Gulf States are stalwart US allies. In fact the first country to recognize the US was Morocco.

Cost who? When it comes to the US, their intelligence in the middle east is valuable.
Can you give me an example of this?
Asset.
They are our long time allies and they also give us an ally in the turbulent Middle East.
How much of an ally are they really in that regard? They didn't participate in either Iraq wars. In fact Ukraine contributed ~6,000 troops to the 2nd Gulf war, their largest military operation before the Russo-Ukrainian War so I'd say Ukraine is a more important ally.
If Iran gets worse, we have s base there. Or whatever Muslim terrorist acts up next.
The first permanent US military base in Israel was only established in 2017 and the largest US base in the region is in Qatar, the Al Udeid Air Base.

Israel knew about 9-11 before it happened and didn't warn the United States of America. The dancing Israelis the stealing of important information show they are a liability.

The US didn't have any enemies in the middle east before ww2. There were only friends who shared a general "fuck the British Empire" sentiment and a love for oil and trade. Obviously that all changed in 1948.

They are our greatest ally, that is why our dear leader is completely uncritical of them

They purposely destabilize the region though, that's become crystal clear if hasn't been for quite awhile, the far right in Israel is not a good actor and they run the country sadly.

I couldn't be more split. I support Israel in this current conflict. Jewish Americans have done amazing things in this country. But Israel also poses burdens and could bring us into their wars. Strategically, Israel's location does offer us benefits. As far as being alienated by Muslim nations....that is a ship that has already sailed. We are the white Devil to many of these nations. Live by the Koran or die. We only have a hope with the least indoctrinated that have Western influences. I truly wish for peace, but one thing history has taught us is Religion is the root of power. With power comes the quest for more. And evil lurks in. More deaths from Religious wars than anything else.
You support Israel in the current “conflict”? What conflict? There is no conflict, it’s just Israel annihilating an entire population, over half of whom are children. If you support that, then God help you. Hell is hot, and many people will answer for this on the other side.

600AD imo
Pop quiz, what was the first country that recognized the independence of the U.S.?

Hint: it’s a Muslim country. Not Christian, and certainly not Jewish.

Another fact, when Syria was transitioning into statehood they specifically asked for America to be the provisional authority and guarantor, because they hated the French and British and they greatly admired the U.S.

America started off with a very favorable opinion in the Middle East and broader Muslim world, all the way up to the Suez crisis. We torched that reputation because of the Dulles brothers and their use of the CIA & state department to destabilize the region (including the overthrow of Mohamed mossadegh in Iran) and we put a nail in the coffin to our relationship with the Middle East and Muslims with our one sided and blind support of Israel starting in the 1960s. None of this was inevitable, it was a choice. And we’ve been paying for it ever since, in blood and treasure. Trillions spent and millions killed.

Time to cut the cord, we should be drawing down our support with a targeted end date. Israel needs to learn how to get along with their neighbors.
It's a skirmish that will never end. We as the United States will keep a presence in the region. I almost want to go in and blow shit away, but the fallout would be catastrophic. We get oil and money from Arabs, and a spot in the middle of it with Israel. AIn't life grand?

Israel is the puppet master.

It's more of a co-dependent relationship - the US has delusions of power & being a player in the Middle East and thinks supporting Israel is the key to unlocking it, Israel happily takes the US support and uses it to carry out its own plans for the region.

Israel is an asset to the USA for it shows middle east countries a path to individual financial and quality of life prosperity. But as middle east countries advance in this regard Israel becomes a liability. For theyll be used by secular religious zealots as a wedge.

Last two conflicts involving Israel was pushback to thwart them building alliances with neighboring middle east countries.

Major liability. I'd say the same thing about the gulf states. It's functionally the same relationship, it's just not a hot button issue like Israel.
