Is HW becoming what LHW was 2008-2011?

From UFC 86 to UFC 128 the LHW belt changed hands 5 times with only 1 defense that was controversial. If Overeem wins Saturday that would be the third consecutive title fight that the challenger won. Thoughts?

If Overeem wins, I'm deleting my account. Take that as a promise or a threat.

I'm obviously coming back if he tests positive though.

Hasn't the HW division ALWAYS been this way?

What will you do in the meantime?

Sherdog is love sherdog is life!

When Stipe touches Overeems "chin-o-glass", TS's theory will be put to rest.

The HW title has always been a hot potato. It will take someone that is significantly better than anyone else in the division (like Jones was at LHW) to break that trend.

You'd assume that it would also have to be a dominant wrestler/grappler too, because it's going to be hard to keep the title as a stand up fighter when everybody at HW hits so damned hard and one mistake can leave you unconscious.

It doesn't matter who wins. They won't keep it.

Cain is coming for his belt.

Nobody has ever been able to defend the belt many times at heavyweight...

LOL...

There has NEVER been a dominant HW champ in the UFC. I think every other weight division has had a dominant champ.

These big guys hit really fuckin hard. All it takes is one good shot and it's all over. No surprise that the belt changes hands so often.

But I'd love to see Stipe defend it a few times.

Were in not for their styrofoam knees, Cain and Shogun would both have had 3+ year title reigns.

If Cain wasn't always injured I think he could have defended the title more than two times

That's true but there haven't been that many HW title fights that ended the way Werdum vs Miocic and JDS vs Cain 1 did. There was Cain vs Bigfoot but Bigfoot's chin and reflexes aren't top level. Those 3 are probably the only non-T KOs in the last 10 HW title fights.
