Yet they all want to laud Silva for moving up and fighting griffin, who was even less impressive than bisping and had just lost his first defense brutally to shad. "But he beat shogun and rampage".

Worst shogun we'd ever seen, who also had a terribly up and down ufc career, and im a huge nuthugger. That doesn't change the fact his moments of brilliance were far outweighed by his moments of mediocrity.

Rampage, most uninspired lazy fighter to ever live, just stood there taking leg kicks that fight.

Then we have irvin and bonnar...two more guys well down the journeyman (at best) list , and tailor made for Silva at the time, as was griffin.

Fedor - Fought at HW, only was finished after his prime by big hitters and had a much riskier style, didn't play it safe.
Silva - Wasn't finished by strikes till he was almost 40 years old. Had an iron chin before that. Even ate the H-Bomb.
GSP - Finished by a guy that's 5 1/2 feet while in his prime who only has 1 other Career finish by strikes. "Derp, but he has a good chin cause he's Canadian and so am I, derp."

Also moron, he rejoined the UFC when Rockhold was champ. He would have either fought Rockhold or Weidman (Depending who won their fight).

Bisping was absolutely on no ones fucking radar as a potential champ given he took the fight against Rockhold (a guy that beat the shit out of him in their first fight) on ten days notice and Weidman's last minute injury.

It's not GSP's fault that Bisping refused to fight anyone credible after he won the belt other than a 47 year old Hendo (in a fight he was gifted a win). Bisping should have defended against one of the legit contenders, gotten wiped out and then GSP would have fought that person.

Anderson vs Rivera is another one. When he had his durability.
GSP lacked in both chin and heart, but made up for it with discipline, to not put himself into bad spots.
Fedor was thought to have a rock chin, but it was more his defense and offensive onslaughts early on that made his chin rated too highly back then.
Nogueira wins this.
Hughes more lack of any form of stand-up, defense included.
Penn known for chin, took too much damage because of it.
Aldo's was pretty good, but like Fedor he was too difficult to handle offensively to really test it.
MM got hurt a couple of times. And took very little damage.
Wanderlei more recovery. Same with Edgar.
Chuck used to have a great chin, like the often referenced Pele fight.
It took basically a baseball bat to put Rampage away.
Khabib's chin helps his pressure greatly. Cain used to walk into shots as well.

I have no dog in this fight but just so you’re aware, just because something is the first point of contact doesn’t mean it takes the brunt of the force. Especially, when absorbing a slam. He didn’t have an iron chin, but it was absolutely solid. He took plenty of good shots from powerful people in his career and stood up to it just fine. Just another thing people want to overate and whine about In this never ending greatest of all time discussion.
