Is Eddie Alvarez what you would call an “Elite Brawler”?

Basically the way he throws strikes seems like he’s swinging like a mad man most of the time but they seem to work except for when he gets countered hard for it but can always fall back on his elite wrestling if all else fails so he has options for when his brawling, power and chin fails him. It got him multiple championships in his career so I’m wondering the consensus of him on here.

He good, not great. Fun fighter though, always interesting to watch

Putting elite wrestling and eddie in the same sentence. Yikes

Think he now gets criminally underrated on here because Conor put such a one sided beating on him. You don't win titles in both Bellator and the UFC without being a quality fighter.

More of a tyrant titan type of guy

Wanderlei Silva is what you would call an elite brawler.

The reason why he's elite is because he can be super technical but chooses to brawl for the audience like a motherfucking gladiator.

He can also be a gameplanner like he was in the Bisping fight. He schooled Bisping that night. He made him look like a rookie. But he didn't brawl. He was patient till the end of each round.

I still dont know how eddie became champion in the LW division without facing tony or khabib, and just after 2 SD win ...

Considering the couple fights he’s had that have been amazing, I’d say so. Alvarez-Chandler 1&2 and his fight with Gaethje are proof.

A lot of heart

Some decent wins and overachieved with his skillset by beating superior fighters like RDA for one

Should never had a sniff of a title before Ferguson or Khabib who would of killed him

However, worked well for Conor because if Khabib or Tony got to Rda, or Eddie first? He would never have been champ, champ!

An Elite brawler would imply strong offence, careless defence but a granite chin. Eddie has a careless defence, not much else.

To me, an elite brawler would be someone with confidence in his defence, able to intimidate opponents with a scrappy style.

Eddie Alvarez is a good fighter, but he doesn't have the best fighting IQ.

Good enough IQ to be a champ in almost every org he's fought in.....

He's an ATG LW. Imagine calling him only a "good fighter".

Overrated bum. He has never, at any point in his life, been the best lightweight in the world. Khabib, Tony, McChicken and hell even Porier would beat him at any point in their careers.

Eddie got a title shot after being 2-1 with 2 split decisions in a division with Khabib and Tony.
