Dustin had his fun and fought the old guard and crushed them, except Charles and Khabib.

Arman has no opponent. It looks like everyone else is matched up. Is this the fight to make? Are Dustin's odds good here? Arman's Wrestling though.

Arman deserves a high rank opponent, but Poirier is probably out of his reach. Not sure what is going with RDA, but it might be his next fight.

I'd love to see that fight, but I don't think Dustin wants any part of that at this stage. Especially because there's a real chance of him getting a TS depending on how the Gaethje/Fiziev fight goes. I'm assuming Dariush will have next if he beats Charles, but who knows after that.

If Gaethje wins, 100% Poirier will be looking for that rematch. Otherwise Poirier might try to fight the winner of Dober vs RDA thats rumored to be happening. Poirier makes 500k to show and 100k to win and when he fought Conor at Lightweight both times and Khabib he got small cuts of the PPV breaking over 1m for all of those fights. I don't think Poirier wants to put his position at risk therefore he only wants to fight guys parallel to him Gaethje/Chandler/Diaz or above him McGregor/Khabib or a belt holder. Losing to a guy like Arman Tsarukyan would hurt his brand and earning potential pretty badly I think, he'd basically be out of the title picture forever at that point and put in a position of needing to take actually hard fights which he knows are high risk and lower reward.

Basically Poirier will wait, he wants nothing to do with Arman. What Chandler has done in the UFC and Poirier has done once reaching the top is textbook prizefighting, they know if you keep your name big and stay around the top even if you don't take hard fights or fight contenders anymore your name value keeps you in the que for potential title shots an you're never more than 1 or 2 wins away so they just circulate among eachother and like people. Poirier has always had horrible takedown defense too, why the fuck would he want to fight a 26 year old with a foreign name from Russian whos probably the divisions 2nd best wrestler?

I'd love this fight. Rematches between the same 6 guy is getting stale. How many fights does Poirier even take before retirement? I think this is a great match up. Arman put on a great performance against Islam, he deserves to be ranked higher up.

I don’t think so they train together, I know that doesn’t mean anything but they ain’t ready to feed Chandler and Dustin to the lower ranked guys yet.

Give him winner of Fiz vs Gaethje imo, though Arman would be a great fight just seems very unlikely, but stranger things have happened.

Don't very surprised if Poirier is given the nxt shot at Islam. If it were up to me I'd scrap the Charles/Dariush fight and give the shot to Dariush but that seems unlikely. Volk rematch may be in play but he should drop the FW strap if that's the case.

This what I was thinking unless they scrap the Olives/Benny fight DP is definitely in play. If they do the Volk rematch I could also see them waiting to see if Connor beats Chandler and wheel him out there for one more title shot

Yeah, let's rank fighters on their losing debut. WTF.

His whole UFC record, obviously. Arman was more competitive against Islam than the former champ Oliveira was. In fact, he was more competitive than Dober, Green, and Hooker as well. His only other loss since then is to Gamrot. I recommend watching the fight, it's a good one. Surely Volk studied tape of Arman and Islam's fight too.

That's a bingo!

I doubt it. They have the same manager and train out of ATT. Arman did fight Gamrot but he trains with Dustin. I think manager will block it unless it is necessary to fight. ATT does have a policy of teammates fighting each other but it usually leads to people leaving the team.
