Is cutting around 10 pounds for a wrestling match on Wednesday reachable?

I've never cut more than 6 pounds but I pigged out on New Years Eve. We are facing a top 20 school in our state so we need to match up perfect. I weigh around 162 and I need to be 152, is this reachable? Should I just tell my coach I can't reach it so he can put out a new line up?

I don't think it should be too bad but I've cut 4kgs at the most and I took a week to do it.

I remember Forrest Griffin saying he drops ten pounds the day of weigh ins but that's hardly relevant.

It sucks but it is very doable.

When I was in HS missing weight for a match = 500 grass drills and a suspension for a match or two.

I can lose 8 lbs in a one day quite reliably. Grab a 20 lb backpack, hike 30km with at least 1000 metres of elevation gain, bring one granola bar and 2 litres of water.

It's certainly doable, but will not be pleasant.

    Yes, it's possible.

No, it probably won't end well if you don't already know the answer to this question. In other words, if you've never cut this much weight and don't know what you're doing, you're probably going to have a really tough go of it.

I would just tell your coach your situation ASAP.

Yep. I go to some of their home matches. I missed the Ohio State match due to Babyeater catching the flu, but we still watched it on TV.

That was a hell of an upset and beatdown. The Brands are nuts but their intensity is great for the sport.

I bet that atmosphere is nuts. I can't wait for them to bring NCAA's back to Philly, I'm definitely getting tix.

And didn't realize babyeater was your irl girl.

I'll change the Putin Belt when posting here from now on

Length of time between weigh-in and meet time is...?

An hour and a half at the least, we mostly likely get around 2. Then depending on what weight class they start at I can get extra time.
