Say you see a couple on the local news wanted for stealing some shit out the store amd you just know these people as people down the street and there is a 500 dollar reward and you call for the to get the reward cause why not? Is that snitching if you just a reg person and aint bout that life?

I dont pay to live in a good neighborhood to be around low lives. I'd rat them out even if there was no bounty/reward.

I have never gotten this who "you don't snitch" thing!

How about you get a real job and don't partake in crime like a scum bag?

I have anonymously reported someone I knew once to the police. The silly dipshit was caught perfectly on cctv, which was released by the police to the public for identification.

I thought I was just saving our already understaffed police time in finding the culprit. Not that I need to justify it.

If you're retarded enough to commit a crime in a public place at least cover your face knowing there;s cctv about.

Look at the communities of the people who tell you not to snitch. That should answer your question.

They're making life worse for everyone and are making your neighborhood worse. Do what you need to do. Just never rat on family or friends.

No only criminals can be snitches. It is being a tattletale and maybe a bit of a hater depending on the level of crime.

When did witnessing a crime become"snitching"?

Is the bank teller who gives a description a "snitch"?

@Smokes it’s straight up snitching. No need for equivocating.

That being said you are a chump if you don’t snitch. Everybody snitches you just got to wait for the right moment to start chirping. If you can get that 500$ without repercussions good fuck em they fucked up not you.

  13. Its snitching but theres no rule against blackmailing them now that you can snitch. It's still ethical if you continue doing illegal things, but the second you do the right thing and snitch, you wrong.

The way I see it, it's snitching if the criminals are your friends, if they've helped you out in your life and if you value them as friends. Otherwise, report the fuckers. If you don't that's just being afraid. It has nothing to do with doing the right thing. But the nature of the crime has a lot to do with it as well. If the crime involves terrorizing people or harming people in some way, that is a scumbag thing to do, so report the criminals. But you mentioned stealing...did those guys rob from a Mom-and-Pop store? Robbing a small independent business is sleazy. Report those assholes. Did they steal from Walmart? Walmart is sleazy. Don't report those nice young criminals.

Speaking of my country... the state always cry that there's "omertà", essentially the whole community not talking to police

But the point is, the state ALREADY KNOW who criminals are and what they do, why the fuck a citzien should get involved when the state already know and is'nt doing anything about it?

When a state aim at stability of an "under control" situation over actually erase crime by removing criminals, i see no point for the citizien to speak
They don't lack information, they lack political will... so essentially they will not back up the citizien, who as only result exposed himself
