Is Cormier being forced to fight non-title so that

no. silva can barely walk for 25 minutes in his condition

let alone fight 5 rounds

I'm pretty sure that Cormier picked Silva because he's a middle weight and because the fight is the 3 rounds.

I don't even know who the other choices are, but it seems as if that would have to be the easiest option.

Doubt it has anything to do with PPV cut.

they probably think it'll be a bad look when Cormier slams him through the canvas

The other options were Henderson or Gegard

Crazy wacko knockout by silva or epic rag dolling by DC like what Rory did to lil Bro Diaz.

I'd prolly pick option B as silva hasn't been training and DC is mad as hell cuz of all jones bullshit.

I think the UFC picked him because they needed someone to sell the PPV. Anyone else at LW wouldn't have the draw considering he beat Johnson and Gus and Glover v Johnson is still in the works. I see a wrestling clinic though which won't be the greatest but if Cormier loses that will be horrible for the division but I don't see that happening.

No one is being forced to do anything. And I'm sure he's still getting a PPV cut. Dana said he's getting paid the same amount on the Colin show. Only difference is that the Jones fight would sell more PPV for a bigger pay.

At his height, I could easily picture Anderson shoving a knee into Carlton's nose as he spams TD attempts all night.

If Andy times it just right, it's good night, Irene and good morning, GOAT.

Cormier didn't pick Silva. Per Dana, Silva called him and offered his services. He was going to be in Vegas anyway. Three rounds will be difficult for Silva with no camp and 2 days notice. No way he can effectively do 5. Silva asked for 3 and didn't want a chance at the belt.

I'm saying that Cormier had choices and chose Silva.

Dana isn't just going to say "your're fighting Silva on 3 days notice." Cormier can just say "fuck that I'm not fighting, find a new main event." UFC learned that the hard way whenever Jones refused to fight Chael.

People need to watch the post fight conference of Alvez RDA. Silva wanted the 3 rounds. DC wanted this to be 210 catch weight

Source?

Yes. They duped dc. Boy will he be surprised when he sees his check. Buhahahhahah.

Source for what? Common sense. I highly doubt Cormier would have fought somebody like Rumble on 3 days notice. Would not blame him one bit for it either.

Ya, I don't think DC is gonna take a pay cut to fight a high risk low reward type of fight against a guy who still may have some power left. DC should get every cent and more for this fight as he would have versus Bones.

Imo Cormier would have asked for a non title fight.

Oh, okay, that's cool. I say stuff a lot too. Just wanted to be clear it was you saying stuff and not you citing something that as a fact happened.

I'm starting to think this is exactly what happened, now that we know he took a 50% cut on his disclosed
