Is conor's panick wrestler moment what made him retire?

I think when he realized how hurt he could get, and how it was likely for him to surpass that amount of damage taken in the next fight, is what ultimately made him consider and choose retirement. He got savaged in that fight and could never recover. What a huge beatdown of historical proportions Nate gave him that night.

"Huge beatdown". He was winning the first round and gassed. Definitely not as bad as you're describing it. Nate took more damage than him in that fight.

The mental damage Conor took is more than Diaz took physically.

He panic wrestled, he did everything he said he would make all his opponents do. His ego took a massive hit.

Yet Nate outstruck and hurt and wobbled conor. Facts are facts.

Nate stole his soul you could tell at the postfight presser

First round was pretty damn close. Second round he tagged nate up with better shots but the clinch is what caused him to gas and the 1-2 killed all his confidence to stay standing.

I think it was clear that this was one beatdown conor could never recover from. The rematch was not a farce he ever really thought to go through with, he was just trying to save face.

All I heard from nuthuggers was how well Conor was handling the loss. Doesn't seem to be handling it so well now, does he?

Gassed after the first round. In his prime, without a weight cut. Maybe that's it's own problem, an even worse one. Even BJ didn't gas like that in his prime lol

I'll give Conor credit for not going all purple pillow, but the damage was done nonetheless. What you have now is a man who's completely shattered. Doubt he'll ever do anything meaningful in the sport again.

Think about having to do promos and watch as you are beaten senseless, slapped and choked. Then imagine you have to step back into the ring with the same man... Knowing this time he's prepared...

Better he quit now than on the tour while in Stockton where he would of been punked beyond existence.

how did he take more damage when McGregor was nearly KO'd?

I hope you're kidding. The Conor haters are making me reevaluate the potential for human stupidity and failure. If you're being sarcastic then you sir have done quite well and are on point.

I would think the looming payday would put any fear aside. Even if getting beaten were inevitable, the money to fall back on would be mighty enticing and he could then walk away into the sunset. Just my two cents. And it does surprise me to a degree.

he definitely had an oh fuck my bullshit doesn't work moment. like this guy

He "retired" because if he's going to lose to Diaz again he wants to make at least $20 mil from it.
