McGoat is beating people up at 145, but we all saw against Chad that his groundhog is not that great... Maybe hes doing those big cuts to avoid guys like Gleison tibau at 155.

LOL He hasn't even beaten Aldo yet. And his best win is a 2-week camp Mendes. Conor's hype is second only to Ronda.

Conor is OBJECTIVELY the most deserving challenger in the history of the 145 division. His hype is well-deserved.

He isn't avoiding 155. He actually wants to move up as soon as possible. He cuts a lot of weight. At the Time Is Now and Go Big press conferences he alluded to this, saying that 2015 is the year Featherweight will be killed, and that next up is the "Stuck in the Mud" Lightweight division.

The reason he's at Featherweight is that the UFC offered him the Brimage fight at 145. Since then, he's been on a path to take the Feathweright crown. Aldo getting injured before UFC 176 and again before UFC 189 has delayed this.

hes said his next fight will likely be at 155 unless frankie is convincing enough against chad.

He's beaten everyone they put in front of him - but his fight against Aldo will prove his worth, once and for all.

C'mon at least let him fight and beat Aldo before talking about him moving up to 155! You might even want to let him defend the belt a few times at least before you call him out for ducking the 55'ers. And Aldo isn't exactly small at 145 either, so why not pick on him?

You mention Tibau, someone that could fight at 170..... great logic

He's asked for 155 fights in the past but Dana said no-go. He's been on a clear shot to the title why would he switch? And the Ufc wouldn't put him against Tibau that makes no sense.

or the UFC wanted him at 145 when he came in and he didn't wanna throw away all the work he did at 145.

he wants to go up to 155 when/if he beats aldo, why would he throw away a titleshot?

Without question. But for you - and many others - to discount him on the basis of his hype seems rather silly. Considering what he has done, he deserves every bit of the hype he has acquired.

His ground game is the least of his disadvantages at LW. He'll be shorter, have no reach advantage, and be facing harder hitters with legit striking skills. Outside of Aldo, most of the FW division are wrestler-boxers like Mendes, Edgar, Lamas, Bermudez, etc. LW is filled with diverse strikers like Pettis, Cerrone, RDA, Ferguson, Barboza, etc. They will light his ass up.

Conor isn't avoiding 155. He has been very vocal about moving up in the near future.

Or he was offered a fight in the ufc at 145 he took it and they didnt let him move back up to 155 were he wanted to be and he has ran with being at 145

I don't have too terribly much to add to the discussion but I did want to say that I think Connie should be Sherdog's official vaguely derogatory nickname for McGregor..

Also yeah there's a lot more wrestlers at the top then there are at 145 but also he has a size advantage at 145. He might have a speed advantage at 155 but he'll be the same size as most of the 155ers if not undersized... And they'll be well-rounded wrestlers too who can strike and strike well..

He shouldn't be looking forward to 155. It's not going to be kind to him.

Lol... Id like to see McG at 155, but i think he wouldnt be that great fighting the top guys... could be wrong though.

Didn't take you too long to change the entire scope of your own thread......
