I think AKA has little to do with his greatness. He'd be a killer if he trained at any of the top camps in the US. Hell, he'd probably be just as bad ass even with mediocre trainers and training partners. With his hunger and work ethic, I don't think it's that important where he trains.

How do you know?

AKA has produced a ton of top UFC fighters...

Cain, DC, Rockhold, Kos, Fitch, Swick, Thomson, among others that I'm forgetting.

They must be doing something right?

Every top camp has a roster of great fighters though.

Jackson's MMA, American Top Team, Extreme Couture, The Blackzilians, Blackhouse TeamNogueira...etc.

There is still a reason why Phil Jackson has so many rings. Talent attracts talent and collaboration works best when all parties bring something to the table.

Bob cook, for me, is the strategist and tactician. Javier did found the gym and put the money up to found it so he gets credit for that. Although I've spoken with bob in the past more than Javier.

Plenty of bums in those gyms too, you just don't know who they are because they lose all their fights.

Veleasquez isn't the champ because he trains at AKA.

So? There's a reason AKA is a top camp.
You're failing to realize this.

I guess my point is that AKA is a top camp because Cain goes there. He originally went there because it's in San Jose, close to his home.

AKA has been a top camp for a long time, before Cain, and a lot of MMA fighters who live near a top camp train there, not just him.

Oh thank god someone else said it. There you have it this.

Also with other tough fighters in camp, that means you have more people there to push you. Even if Jav was not a great coach (which many MMA fighters outside of AKA say he is), he has connections with high level sparring partners for tha King to Maul on day to day. He was also a former Kickboxing champion so I'm sure he knows a thing or two.

Yes, similar to Erik Spoelstra of the Miami Heat. If you got Lebron, you should go to 4 straight finals and should win a few of them.

Yup. They're both great guys, but Crazy Bob Cook is a genius when it comes to MMA. Very talented and intelligent dude.
