OK yeah sure it's pretty good for a guy is size and for the pace he push but i'm already reading that his cardio is legendary and some of the best ever ect ect I have no doubts that spamming takedowns against a guy with great TDD like JDS must be very taxing but Cain had hardly anything left from the 3rd onward. He was completely gassed and wasn't doing any damage to a guy that was also completely gassed and dazed. Kept clinching ect Personally i'm going to put him in the "great early rounds cardio" class but I'd wait a bit before calling it legendary or the best ever. Discuss
You'd be hard pressed to find anyone in his weight class, or even MW/LHW who could hold that non-stop tempo.
No not even close to being legondary status yet, he has even been knocked out once not that long ago, A legend is way to much of a strong word to use at this point.
Im not butthurt at all. I was rooting for Cain Just a bit disappointed that he couldn't finish due to gassing , especially since JDS was completely out of it
I think you're misunderstanding the OP. The question is whether or not cain's cardio deserves legendary regard, not the man himself.
It's better than most heavyweights but probably not that much better than some of the other 'small' heavyweights like prime Couture, Nog, Fedor etc... honestly it probably gets played up so much because he's one of the smallest framed top heavyweights today.
he pushed a hard pace for 25 mins and didnt look too bad at the end of it. stop splitting hairs bitch
He has the best cardio at HW. Which isn't saying a lot. It's just telling of the heavies that someone who supposedly has "legendary" cardio slows down after two dominant rounds. Legendary cardio is the likes of Benson Henderson. He works for 25 minutes and looks ready for another 10.
Cain looked gassed in the third round. The dude is a wrestler though and he pushed through it like a man.
Nope, proved in last nights fight it isn't anything spectacular. JDS gassed in round 1, Cain in round 2. Last serveral rounds reminded me of Kimbo vs Houston, except the boring part.
I do not see any HW pushing that kind of pace for 5 rounds. Cain was being extremely active for 5 rounds without any LnP or wall and stall.
He can definitely maintain a pace but he looked pretty gassed. Then again these are big dudes moving around a lot of weight.
