Is Brazilian Ju-Jitsu the fastest growing MA in the world?

Ex-USSR? Sambo, Judo and Wrestling still run the show. Guys on this forum need to remember that the world does not = USA.

So Sambo, Judo, and Wrestling are growing faster than BJJ? I would have thought that, since they have been running the show for some time, that they would be growing very slowly, if at all.

Every viable market in the States has probably been saturated.

Nonsense. There are still places in the US where you need to drive in excess of an hour each way to train, especially if you're looking for a black belt. Unless something has changed recently, my dojo is the only school in our entire state with multiple black belts.

NYC and southern California are probably saturated (or at least close), but there is still a ton of room for growth within this country.

Worldwide, judo and wrestling are much more popular. The reason Bjj is not an olympic sport is because it's not "international" enough, aka the brazilians would dominate, so it hasn't reached other countries on a serious level. It may be growing fast, but wrestling and judo and many other sports are already well established worldwide.

The reason BJJ is not an olympic sport is because there is already other form of jacketed grappling in it and there is no reason for the IOC add another martial art as they would rather take out what already is there. Also, BJJ is not interesting to the average Joe to watch.
