Is being a “double champ” actually feasible?

LHW+HW is possible since you only need to cut weight for one.

This guy did it in WSOF.

If Conor did this with the Lightweight and Welterweight belts, it would be glorious.

It would be pretty cool. Too bad that's way out there in fantasy land. It's doubtful Conor could have had one successful defense at LW alone.

No chance because as soon as a champ wins a belt they realise the publicity, money, fame and power that comes with being the champ and take their foot off the gas, they probably make more fighting twice a year through sponsors whilst holding the belt than fighting four times a year and risking loosing it, so no fighter would be active enough to run two divisions.

Yeah I don't think it could ever last for very long, if someone attempted it. Imagine the mental pressure of having to regularly fight the top KILLERS in two different divisions. Not to mention the physical strain of fighting 4 times a year and constant body weight fluctuations. It's not really feasible.

Might be doable if you didn't bulk up too much for the higher weight class, they'd have a very easy cut for the higher weight class but would be small for the division. The Conor that fought at FW could have done it I reckon but he'd be giving up a bit of size at LW if he regularly had to cut to FW.
