He has a BB in TKD or Karate I believe... no deals on a grappling belt tho... he learned it all in Pancrase.

a white belt. i'm pretty sure he has very little experience with the gi, and most of his favorite moves are illegal.

that being said, i'm sure he's tapped many black belts in his day. and he'd likely move through the ranks with lightening speed

as they say, belts are there to hold your pants up, or in grapplings case, to hold your gi closed

....actually they're quite a bit more significant in BJJ

I'm a BJJ student, I understand what theyre all about...but I guarantee you there are people who just put on black belts, or say they are...its the skills of the person that make them a black belt...Blackbelt is just a symbol of a mastered proficiency

i think you're completely missing the point. belts represent competitive skill divisions in BJJ. i'm not even going to get into what you said.

I'm sure he'd be up there. I've seen a few things in videos of him that I've never even heard of.

I can make up a few moves you've never seen before. That doesn't mean they are any good...

Believe it or not, although Bas has way more KOs than submissions he is considered and considers himself a submission expert.
Bas is quite the warrior. And a great coach from what I hear.

  19. Bas's wins:
    12 - (T)KOs
    13 - Subs
    3 - Decs
