So I was thinking about Barao a bit, and then realised that the guy doesn't seem to have any weaknesses at all. Not just that I can't point on any possible weakness in his game, I also think he's pretty damn good at just about any aspect of MMA.
Good boxing? Absolutely. Especially after he steamrolled Faber like this.
Good kicks? Without a doubt.
TDs and TDD? Yep.
BJJ and offensive submission skills? We have all seen his fights.
Now, every other aspect I can think off in MMA, he's pretty good at, too. Speed, cardio, timing, endurance/chin, defense, fight IQ.
Another aspect worth mentioning is that he hasn't fought any predictable so far. Like in his first fight with Faber he was more tenative, while in the rematch he went after it right away, throwing bombs and taking risks. Or the spinning back kick against Wineland. I also can remember a performance early in his UFC career where he did nothing but grappling, grinding out his opponent for a dominant decision victory. You just doesn't know what he's going to do...
This said, I wonder if he might think about moving up to FW after some time, as BW isn't really strong at the moment. Well, I guess that depends on Aldo and if he might stick to LW.
