So this gives power to the federal goverment and allows them to play matchmaker among other things.

Because giving the goverment power to the goverment is always a great thing right? The sopa act? Let them control the internet?

UFC isn't boxing. All these lawsuits, no wonder Dana and Lorenzo want out. Obviously fighters are always going to want more money, it's human nature but if it wasn't for the UFC

Bisping would probably still be a DJ.
Ronda would probably still be a bartender or a coach.
Might Mouse would still be working in a factory.

Say what you want about Dana and co but it's because of them we've seen some epic fights over the years.

The Tito era.
The Chuck era.
The Anderson Silva era.
The Rousey era.
The Mcgregor era and so on.

Can you imagine if the UFC starts losing all the lawsuits, Dana and co walk, the ufc loses popularity becomes a mid-tier organisation. Other organisations start popping up. Robbie Lawler goes over to a different organisation, Jones goes over to a different one, Connor starts his own.

Is this really what everyone wants? Say what you want about Dana and co but they did a great job of keeping all the talent under one roof. In a couple of years everything could be a mess.

I don't know what it is all about, but as a matter of principle I am all against it!

Anybody with a brain should be against it, it would kill the sport as we know it.

Yes.

The only stupid mofo's against it are the famous Dana/Zuffa haters who don't know anything.
Goofs.

The unified rules ended the sprt as we knew it too. that is not necessarily a bad thing.

I totally am....You wanna do sumthin bout it, bro (I'm 6'6" 285 lbs)?

Can someone explain to me in layman terms what exactly the Ali act is and the controversy behind it?

Sorry but this isn't a simple rule set change, the fight cards would get watered down and you can kiss goodbye to all the best fighting the best.

Can someone summarize exactly what this act is?

I dont know all the ins and outs of this, but if it prevents all the top talent from signing with the UFC, I dont want it. Im all for protecting fighters and giving them more rights and leverage. But if that means spreading out the talent, they need to find a different way.

I don't know enough about it to comment but I know that all the wrong users support it, so it can't be all that sensible.

But, but, it's called the Muhammed Ali act so it has to be a great thing!!

Gee, a legitimate ranking system? That sucks. It would almost be like a real sport.

Does it allow fighters to dodge the draft?

What makes you think it would be legitimate?
It would just be different, still subject to personal opinion.

Because boxing has a legitmate ranking system. Gee, that works. Mayweather running for six years not fighting the best.
