At this juncture, the re-match does not make any sense. They fought at welterweight in a non-title fight. What is the relevance?
From UFC'c point of view, Conor's credibility suffered so it would make sense he avenged his loss and then they could say the loss was a fluke cause he fought outside of his weight class. The win would get him back on track for a mega money fight with RDA. The big question is if a short notice 5th ranked lihgtweight in the world chokes him out, what would he do to him with a full camp and how does another loss entitle Conor to fight RDA? Would the UFC risk the loss of marketability and potential consequent mega fights?
And of course the Lawler fright is just out of the question even if Conor was to win. Lawler walks around at 200 pounds and would kill Conor.
The point is that by making the Diaz 2 fight UFC has put themselves in a position where Conor can not afford to lose and there is no way that Conor beats a full camp Nate Diaz on the up and up. He can't KO him, he can't submit him and he can't outsrike him volume vise and he doesn't have the cardio to go with him past 4 rounds. So what else is there to justify this fight and make sure Conor prevails?nate-diaz-conor-mcgregor-mma-ufc-196-mcgregor-vs-diaz-41.jpg 700.jpg 700.jpg 700.jpg 700.jpg 9165890.jpg

Yes you are the only ones..

Only morons thinks UFC would fix a fight.
Too many people involved to make the fix. And if it gets out UFC as a brand and promotion would lose a ton of money /worth. UFC would prob lose their license to promote fights and Ferittitas would risk their casino license as well.

NO fight is worth that risk.

No.

I did think the first fight was though. It looked like Conor took a dive and didn't try to break the sub. The 'Go big' presser keeps going through my head..."I've got to lift other schmuks to make the UFC money"

It's common knowledge that Conor is now equal partners with Dana and the fritetas. I think he was asked to take a dive to raise up Nate, thus giving the company more money.

Wise business strategy. Clever in my opinion.

Anyone concerned that the
nomination for presidency
is fixed by the electoral college?

I'm sure there are plenty of idiots who think that way...

So what you are saying is Conor is a corrupt motherfucker that do anything if the money is right?
Some what like a prostitute? You sure know how to pick who you want to support dont ya?

For the sake of future generations, TS should consider getting fixed.

Life is short. The sport is dangerous. Why not get in, make some coin, and get out with your health?

I'd do the same.

Dee and $$$...fuck the rest (you included. lel.)

1) Why would they trust Diaz to take a dive and stay quiet? He's literally one of the last guys you would ask to do do this.

2) Conor has obvious room for improvement, such as throwing the traditional low kicks that everyone else had a ton of success with against Nate.

3) The UFC chews its stars up and spits them out. If they can use you to sell 1,000,000 ppvs right now, they'll cash you out in an instant. Look at the gauntlet of killers they threw at Lesnar. Or the tough stylistic matchups they threw at Ronda (wrestling silver medalist, boxing world champ) when they could have sold well just feeding her chumps.

4) If they got caught, they'd probably lose their license and their billion dollar business would be worthless.

5) Why the fuck am I even bothering to dignify this. If a fix is in, it's not going to be through Zuffa. I would say that undercard fighters getting bought by gamblers is the most likely, since those cats are getting paid like 10k to show, yet their fights are globally televised, with online sportsbooks offering odds around the world.

I don't believe they would fix a fight, I truly don't. However, I find the idea of a rematch very odd and can understand why you would ask the question (especially with Dana's strange quote about Diaz maybe retiring), the rematch just makes the whole sport appear totally unprofessional, the guy should be defending his belt, it's becoming a bit of a pantomime now.

I just can't understand why they would risk their cash cow for one big pay day? (unless it goes Conor's way somehow) I have been trying to figure it out since rumors of the announcement unless they are done with him maybe? I mean, he was well and truly beaten in that fight.

edit: I can't see any possible scenario in which Conor beats RDA by the way. I see him getting badly beaten in that fight

There are about eight decades of boxing and three decades of MMA that would refute the assertion that fixes do not happen in fights, whether it's consensual or not among fighters, promoters, refs and judges. To be ignorant of that fact is, just well, ignorant.

If i was going to fix a fight i would not be asking a diaz to take a dive.

Sonnen would be my pick, Nate fuck no.

So you think being corrupt is okay.
Well I am not surprised also LOL at you not seeing that a win vs Diaz would set up much bigger fights for Conor.
Somehow for you a rematch vs Diaz > RDA or Lawler.
