...letting DC know the truth. That he Could actually take him down if he wanted to.

"I bet I could take you down" is what Jones said whey they saw each other for the first time and is what made DC keep a grudge for all this time. And it turned out to be the truth all along.

And DC took Jones down too.

Even with Jon trying to grab the cage.

How is that relevant to how the beef started?

Jones mentioned that would probably happen.

DC didn't defend much in the 4th, but I was surprised by his takedown in the 1st. I'd like to see the two in a wrestling match. Maybe even Metamoris.

    This one was pretty beautiful.

Really set the pace for the fight.

    I would have lol'd

Or a Matt Hughes-esque run to the other side of the cage.

I was half expecting one of Jon's limbs to be bent backwards after that takedown. He's lucky DC fucked it up and didn't come down on top of him.

Its ironic in its most literal sense.

It would be like Jones getting upset if Cormier said "I bet I have shorter arms then you Jones" same thing.

Jones took down Cormier in an MMA setting which is very different.

First Rd takedown was a trip from a kick - clearly would not be a possibility in pure wrestling

All other takedowns in later rds were when had Cormier pressed against the cage - again not something Jones could lean on in pure wrestling.

It is a shame that an athlete like Jones had his wrestling career cut short but I dont think you can read too much into who is the better wrestler.

Jones said "I bet I could take you down". He didn't say "I bet you I could take you down in a straight wrestling match in hughes barn"

The beauty of what Hughes did was that he would pick a guy up, then locate his corner and walk him over there to get dumped on the ground so that Hughes could then listen to his corner tell him what to do. Not rocket science by any means, but still a pretty slick move to use that advantage.

    Preach brotha.

Hughes was the fighter that got me to be a casual fan of MMA.

    Sherk as well.
