Afraid not,Ireland is just going through a phase that the USA went through in the 90's.
US Senators were on TV calling UFC "human cockfighting", and if you asked common people, they thought people regularly died, got their eyes literally gouged out of their heads, etc.
It's a phase. Ireland will get over it even faster than the USA did. Both because it's been built into an accepted 'sport' around the world, and because they happen to be the home of the UFC's biggest star right now.
This attitude is embedded with these fucking imbeciles here. This country run by idiots and their idiot families, boxing is enshrined here and any threat to it will always face problems.
Unfortunately these people have got this idea into their heads that MMA is somehow pornographic and the death of that fighter, for them, confirms all their delusions of how dangerous the sport is...there are still blasphemy laws in Ireland so it's just going to take some time, not to convince these people but we just have to wait for them to die and new, younger more open minded people to take their place.
