Iran orders 15 billion dollars worth of Boeing airplanes

So there is quite a wait list for airplanes right now at both Air Bus and Boeing. I am curious if Iran has tried to negotiate deliveries before the presidential elections for some of these planes, in case the next president doesn't commit to the Iran deal.

This is actually evidence though, that the Iran deal is a done deal I guess, as now profit motive ensures the full weight of the Boeing lobbying and bribing army would be mobilized to keep it in place.

Iran is a huge market and I think everyone is happy to make commercial deals with them now that the sanctions are over.

You know they're just gonna fly em all into buildings. Thanks Cuckbama.

This is far from a done deal. Frankly speaking, Iran don't HAVE that kind of money laying around, they're still begging the banks to finance the purchase order:

Richard Aboulafia, an aviation and aerospace analyst at the Teal Group, said in an interview that while there are a number of people talking up the deal, there's "very low level" of likelihood that most of the jets would be delivered to Iran.

In an interview with Al Jazeera, Aboulafia said that Iran has "no money" to pay for the deal.

"It's great that they are going to do this deal, but it's more talk than actual money," he said.

"The biggest hurdle is financial. A lot of financiers are not comfortable with financing planes going to Iran".

I hope they'll be able to secure the financing though. It's fucking scary when you truly realize that for the last few decades, nuclear-obsessed Iran has been flying around on antique coffins that have no business gliding over any human population:

AVIATION geeks love Iran Air, but for all the wrong reasons. Decades of sanctions have left Iran's flag-carrier with one of the oldest fleets in the world, featuring museum-vintage aircraft like a 39-year-old Boeing 747SP, the only passenger aircraft of its type still in service.

Blocked from ordering Western-built jets for three decades, Iran Air and the country's 15 other carriers have extended the lives of their obsolete planes while scouring the black market for second-hand ones.

The results are predictable: 37 crashes of Iranian aircraft since the turn of the century, claiming more than 900 lives.

I dont know why American Islamophobes want to keep Iran crippled. They are the best bulwark against Wahabism's power and influence. A vote against Iran is a vote for Saudi Arabia.

Bombardier will sell some C-Series for 60 cents on the dollar

Tell Justin a sob story and he'll pay you to take the plane

This would have been hilarious if it wasn't so damn sad.

How many billions of taxpayers' money has been sunk into that experiment anyway? Any forecast on when the Canadian government will get their bail-out money back?

Abuolafia knows his shit. I would defer to his expertise here.

Boeing and airbus are selling there 737's and A320's at about 20 million a pop right now. They have deep pockets. Both Brazil and Canada's ventures will have to spend billions more to try and gain a foothold in the market.

Just wait until the Russian and Chinese models come to market. You will be able to buy a single aisle airplane for 10 million 10 years from now.

This is bullshit. All the planes I buy from now on will be Airbus's.

We had / have the money - but the liberal budget headed by blank cheque Trudeau decided 30 billion of extra spending needed to happen on things like minority children and indigenous people. (cutting 6 billion from the infrastructure promise he ran on )

Now, not only is Bombardier in dire straights but Lockheed and P&W are threatening to pull out over the F35 renege.

Thats about 10'000 jobs in Canada that Trudeau could easily save and grow had he not gone the route of faux humantarism.

The first thing I imagined when reading the title was this:

Having said that Iran while being a shia country has supported sunni terror including AQ before AQ went full takfiri mode.

If there was a situation when the word "Islamophobes" is misused, this is it.
