Inspired by the light sleeper thread. Do any of you no matter what wake up at the exact same time every morning? I have to be at work around 9:15 and my internal clock is set at 8 am. I kid you not no matter if I stay up till 3 in the morning my ass wakes up at that time. It's kind of nice because I don't require alarms but it sucks on my day off after a night of partying. Anyone else deal with this?

I very often wake up on my own about a minute or two before my alarm in the morning. I will wake up check the phone notice that it will go off in less than 2 minutes and still go back to sleep and wait for it to actually go off. I also trust myself in that I will acknowledge the alarm and go back to sleep (no snooze) and wake up in about 10 minutes to get ready for work. I think I have only been bitten by this once and actually been late. I've forgotten alarms and still woken up anyways.

I have an alarm set at 6:00 in the morning, but if my phone dies or I leave it somewhere I still always wake up at 6:15 even on weekends

I don't have a rigid sleep schedule right now, but I remember when I was a teenager I would wake up at 8 am every morning, alarm or no alarm. And I mean 8 am on the dot, down to the second pretty much.

Same here. For some reason, if the alarm is set for 8, I wake up at 7:59. I guess it's because I f'n hate the sound of alarms.

My alarm is just the radio on CBC blaring really loud but I still wake up before it goes off.

It's funny because for years I was horrible about getting up in the morning and always slept in on weekends. But as soon as I started working out regularly in the morning I couldn't stay asleep if I wanted to.

Internal clock is cool. If I have a timer set cooking something I will usually walk over to the stove right before the buzzer goes off. Same with waking up; I used to claim that I could wake up at any specific minute, but haven't tried it in a while.

I'm the same way. I tend to wake up on the weekends just as though it's a work day but luckily I can laugh that shit off and fall right back asleep.

Always 15 minutes before my alarm goes off. I fucking hate it.

Lol I am the exact same

Also another phenomenon of the internal clock for me is the fact that I regularly keep up with the time for no specific reason. It's almost like a tick but if someone asks me what time it is I can generally always tell them down to almost the minute without looking. It's like a subconscious counter I always keep going without effort.

Of course I wake up at the same time even if I stay up late as do most other people that have been in the work force long enough. Circadian Rhythm bruh.

Circadian rhythm

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Some features of the human circadian (24-hour) biological clock

A circadian rhythm /sɜːrˈkeɪdiən/ is any biological process that displays an endogenous, entrainable oscillation of about 24 hours. These 24-hour rhythms are driven by a circadian clock, and they have been widely observed in plants, animals, fungi, and cyanobacteria.[1]

The term circadian comes from the Latin circa, meaning "around" (or "approximately"), and diēm, meaning "day". The formal study of biological temporal rhythms, such as daily, tidal, weekly, seasonal, and annual rhythms, is called chronobiology. Processes with 24-hour oscillations are more generally called diurnal rhythms; strictly speaking, they should not be called circadian rhythms unless their endogenous nature is confirmed.[2]

Although circadian rhythms are endogenous ("built-in", self-sustained), they are adjusted (entrained) to the local environment by external cues called zeitgebers (from German, "time giver"), which include light, temperature and redox cycles.[3]

I get pissed, I hate to get out of bed

And I swear I wake up every morning right before the alarm is about to go off, and I mean I get up at 5:15 AM and look over at the clock and it's 5:14 am every damn morning

I would rather the alarm wake me up than watch as it's about to go off

FUCK

I can't sleep past 8 but I work at 730 so unfortunately I need an alarm.

I need at least one alarm to get up in the morning

Yeah I tend to. Some days I end up sleeping late (2-3am) and figure I'd be up by noon.... I usually end up fully awake by 8-8:30am

Sometimes my internal clock works when I don't set my alarm. Other times I have to call in sick.

I wake up around 6:30 every morning unless I drank too much the night before.
