Elegant in it's simplicity. Taking the back from side control by using the crossface to bulldoze the guy over and drive a wedge in (similar to how Rob Kahn attacks the arm triangle). Same guy (Ricky Lule) also used the giftwrap to great effect multiple times in all his matches. (Shame it all ended with a freak knee roll-over accident.)

Good stuff. It's pretty old school TBH.
The gift wrap is highly underutilized.

I dig it. Simple but it's cool to see that old school cross face pressure from a young 10th Planet guy, since you don't see as much traditional side control being played on the modern sub-only circuit.

To me he's doing the same thing as wedging behind them with a seatbelt and driving them onto their side. He just seems to be using shoulder pressure instead and then getting the seatbelt.

Yupp check out bjj scout series on chair sit with Bj Penn. Pure gold

Chairsits are something you can do in a number of situations for a number of reasons.

It's like if someone asks you how X fighter submitted his opponent, and you tell them, 'with a choke'.

Okay, great, technically that does in fact narrow things down to a degree, but you know not to the degree he's actually looking for.

Or like, watching someone hit a clean seated leg scissors to saddle and going, 'oh, everyones seen heel hooks before'. Like, definitely focusing on the less important part there.
