Interesting, Gsp just said BJ Penn is the most skilled fighter he's ever fought

In a recent interview Gsp was asked who is toughest fight was - or who was the toughest fighter he ever faced

GSP further clarified to give context to the question from all directions

Which was enjoyable and interesting to listen to

    According to Gsp

    1. The most hurt he's ever been in or after a fight was against Condit.

Gsp said the kick burst a blood vessel in his head or something to that effect.

    Pretty fucking crazy.

And if true, the fact Gsp came back from that kick is bonkers

    2. Bisping was a tough fight and is the toughest fighter he's ever faced.

    3. Gsp says BJ Penn is the most skilled fighter he's ever faced.

And that his first fight against BJ was the toughest fight he's ever had to push through to win

    Makes sense.

GSP was fairly new to the UFC at the time, up against a legend, had a bad first round where he was battered, and also suffered some bad eye pokes atc. Another fight that showed the heart of Gsp.

Just thought this was all very interesting and wanted to share

Conor and GSP are 2 of my favorites. I would love to see them fight, and if Conor won I would love to hear Gsp's thoughts on Conor, and explaining to every one else Just how great Conor truly is..because GSP is always great at explaining things in a very thorough easily digestible way

    War Gsp

What do you guys think about Gsp not mentioning anything about the Hendricks fight btw?

What were some of your favorite Gsp fights?

You're the epitome of what's wrong with Sherdog and modern MMA fans.

You've combined the two worst fanboi groups of all time.

no offense, but i don't think gsp is being honest, as far as the most hurt he has been. or at least the fight in which he sustained the most damage. that was the hendricks fight, the fight that he interestingly hardly ever brings up, because of all the controversy surrounding the decision.

BJ Penn is probably the most skilled MMA fighter ever.

If he only had GSP's work ethic and dedication.

vs BJ 1: it was only one "eye poke", and unintentional> was not an extended finger, was the result of a left hook, probably a knuckle or the thumb grazing No Rush´s eye.

This myth had to be clarified.

What? He never got dropped in the Hendricks fight, let alone by a blood vessel-busting shin to the noggin. He ate some solid GnP from Hendricks after the slip, but nothing like the onslaught of punches and elbows he withstood from Condit after the head kick. It’s not even a comparison.

if he didnt fight light heavyweights and shit he would have a better record. shit if he stopped going up to 170 he'd have a better record.

That and Anderson has said BJ is the GOAT.

Anyone with eyes could see that BJ was the most well-rounded and exceptionally skilled LW. He has never gassed in a LW fight and Frankie, who is also a badass, had his number.

BJ is LW GOAT. Makes sense that he's the best GSP has ever fought.

GSP is a smart guy, if he doesn't ever acknowledge the fight with Hendricks it will slip from people's minds.

Hendricks wobbled GSP in the second round, but other than that he was never hurt, whereas Carlos rocked him with a head-kick andd nearly finished him with some vicious GnP.

Not even early GSP that fought BJ to a split decision. It’s the truth.

It's never healthy putting on lots of weight and then dropping lots of weight

It never works out well for that fighter

Gsp to 185 and then to 155

Roy Jones moved up and down in weight the same way before he was knocked out cold by Tarver. Thus confirmed Conor knocks out Gsp

i completely disagree. you think gsp received more, "onslaught of punches and elbows" in the condit fight than the hendricks fight? really? also, why do some people believe every word gsp says? he lies whenever it makes him look better, and when it suits his interests. blood vessel bursting? lol. whatever description to make it sound more dangerous, i guess.

Well he lost that first bj fight and I’ve literally grew up watching bj penn get his ass kicked. I just can’t view him as good. It’s like when old school cats be like Jennifer Aniston is fine , and then I’m like her skinny ass ? Same with bj , I’m like his no cardio face kicked , nick Diaz , Dennis silver non slipping punches ass ?

i know that gsp fell from the kick, but gsp wasn't simply wobbled. it looked to me like if hendricks didn't go, "70%", he could have finished gsp. gsp was in a lot of trouble. i think people should rewatch that fight. hendricks got screwed, even at going 70% like a dumbass. hendricks won that fight, regardless of how retarded the judges were.
