Israeli society today is highly influenced but the Sephardic/mizrahi culture in almost every aspect of life. The Ashkenazi Jews were more influential as they basically started modern Israel and yes there was discrimination and such but the mizrahi influance is huge and not gone at all.

Of course there is considering they were historically the majority of jews, that doesnt really changes much when forced to adopt the european jewish culture.

Similar arguments can be made for african culture in countries like Cuba or prehispanic culture in countries like Mexico, that doesnt changes the fact that these countries core cultural traits and customs are european.

I think it's accepted facts these days that the Vikings were the first to cross the Atlantic over to America. Pretty good feat for dirt eating cave dwellers.
