Yeah that guy was just looking for an insurance payout. Plenty of time and space for him to reduce his speed or switch over to the left lane. Truck driver was coming off a ramp, where else was he supposed to go?
semi should have crushed that guy. I'm surprised he didn't actually.
Wow, what a goof. Get the fuck over and let people merge you slack jawed cunt.
You don't yield to mergers.
Mergers yield to the flow of traffic.
I wouldn't do what this guy did to make a point but I'm glad he did.
Takes a special breed of asshole to act like this.
While the truck should merge, the idiot with the camera could have easily moved over or slowed down to let the truck in. I wouldn't be surprised if he didn't actually slow down to stay alongside. If he called the police they can download that information from the computer in his vehicle.
Truckee should have just stopped on the shoulder right away and waited, or otherwise let the guy pass. And what a dick the car guy is. I think I would have got out and filled the place with teeps.
I'm surprised this yokel wasn't carrying a gun.
The truck was merging with a blinker on.
wonder how much sex the car driver has with his sister?
Guy was a complete ass.
The guy sounds like a jerk but he has no legal obligation to get out of the trucks way. If you're merging you don't have the right of way. You can't just assume people will move because you're driving a large vehicle.
Did camera guy have nothing better to do that day?
Wow, ebaumsworld is still a thing?
It's not about legal rules, maybe the truck driver is on the tail end of a 60hr week, maybe he's drunk, that's not justification for bad driving but all I saw is a one guy who without a doubt should not be on the road. He saw what could have been a dangerous situation and showed a complete lack of common sense
Trying to prove a point in this manner is beyond stupid. That diver is the reason you can buy chainsaws that have a sticker on the side saying 'do not stop chain with hand'. Im almost sad he didn't get crushed to death. Total idiot
Did anyone else notice that the dumb bass in the car recorded the whole thing with his phone while driving? Probably not a great strategy when you're fishing for legal payouts.
Looks like the guy was riding in the truck's blind spot.
He was clearly trying to get hit.
I'm a truck driver with two years experience, and I'm sad to say they're BOTH at fault.
The guy with the camera was obviously the antagonist of the situation, he's a legit asshole and I hope he doesn't profit a cent from this situation.
BUT - take him, and his comments, out of the situation and watch the video on mute. The truck driver didn't have the right-of-way and has to yield to oncoming traffic. He should have reduced his speed and let the car pass.
That said, it's difficult to determine what speed they were going, and IF the car was intentionally going slower than he needed to, just to start an antagonizing situation, he's an even bigger asshole. But if he was going above the minimum speed, everything he did was technically legal.
The cops could go either way with this, but I'm betting once they saw the video and the camera guy's antics and comments, they'd side with the truck driver. Cops don't like to side with assholes.
But the #1 factor that makes the asshole the biggest asshole I've seen in a while, is that he uploaded this to Ebaums.
Well, I'm afraid that it is in fact about legal rules. Who will be found at fault for this accident? The truck driver. He didn't have the right of way. He didn't merge properly. It's his fault. Yeah, the other guy is a jerk. But the truck driver can't just assume people will always move out of his way. I drive for a living. I don't make assumptions about what other people will do. Or at least I assume they will always do the stupidest things.
