All the money in the world couldn't save him from the killer bees.

Lesson learned

had this happen to a friend but they survived. they were drinking coke out of a can and a bee went into the can and stung them in their throat. if they were allergic, they would be dead
This must be more common than I thought.
I know of a woman this happened to at a park picnic. She was allergic and did die.

Sunjay Kapur, 53, a well-known Indian billionaire and chairman of global car parts giant Sona Comstar, collapsed while playing polo in England on Thursday.

While playing polo, it is understood the bee stung Kapur in his mouth, potentially triggering anaphylactic shock that caused his heart to stop.

A sting to the throat or airway can cause swelling, airway blockage, a sudden drop in blood pressure, and cardiac arrest.
The exact cause of death is still being investigated, but early reports suggest it may have triggered a massive allergic reaction, leading to his sudden collapse.

Gnarly little buggers... And so are bees.

I kid... I shouldn't have done that and it was the wrong thing to do. Terrible stuff

I kinda had that happen.

Except I got over being surprised faster than he did and spit him out before he could sting.

In high school during lunch I was sitting outside drinking something with a straw and a bee flew by, I teased it by blowing air on it with the straw but when I ran out of air I sucked it back into my mouth by accident.
My crush was watching the whole time.
Good thing it didn’t sting and kill me.

What a nightmare. True story, one time I parked and I was walking to the entrance of Target. This bug flew into my mouth as I took a breath, I think it was a bee. I just remember it being big and tasting disgusting. Now after reading this story I'm convinced it tried to kill me.

I used to wakeboard a lot, my buddy had a boat. His co-worker started dating a NFL cheerleader, she was young and super hot. First time she came on the boat, we're out in the middle of the lake and she starts freaking out because there's a big bee on the boat and she's allergic and she didn't bring an Epipen. While she's swatting at it, it lands on my neck and stings me. Now I'm freaking out because I don't know if I'm allergic and it hurt like hell. She felt so bad, she pulled the stinger out and put some kind of cream she had on my neck. <Fedor23>

One of the guys I worked with was gardening over a weekend a few years back in Knoxville, TN where he lives. He got a swarm and woke up in the hospital. He had no idea he was that allergic. They had to restart his heart. Yikes.

Billionaire killed by bee to mouth... no one saw that coming. Do Epi Pens work on bees? I surprised no one could save him.

Like others in this thread mentioned, I too drank a can of coke with a Bees in it. One I swallowed, it did nothing. Another flew out and stung my hand. These were yellow jackets. My hand swelled up even though I am not allergic to my knowledge. I guess I could have also dieded.
