I came home from my high schools wrestling camp.I wasn't really tired but my right leg (lead leg for doubles) is hard to walk on.I'll admit I haven't really done to much physical activity for a week because summer just started and I wanted to relax.I also do BJJ but nothing has ever hurt like this. The coach wants us to practice shooting for doubles and getting low in our sugar foot stance(I think that's what he called it). What can I do to loosen up my leg I tried a hot bath and streching but it's not working.btw I'm definitely not injured.

So that's training and not competition, right?

Yeah, upping the intensity and/or volume abruptly enough to cause "incredible soreness" is bad programming. My advice for you is to take it easy for a few days (rest for a day or two, then start doing stretching, easy cardio, and light very-low-intensity/high-rep exercises for a couple more days) and then go back to training but take at least a week or two to work up to high intensity/volume training.

yeah, you need to rest it up. increasing your work too fast will make you sore like you describe. rest up.

I've found cocunut water (high in potassium) helps with cramps at night while creatine helps with muscle soreness recovery.

It's a cold shower you want.

Ideally as soon as you're done exercising. But as soon as you get home should work well enough.

If you're going to do a shower, might as well do contrast showers with hot and cold.

Or you can just

Ive seen that picture before and I really can't see how anyone would even try that, that shit is disgusting.

Sore and need help? It would be helpful if you could point out where on this chart it hurts:

Yeah That's All I Have.

That squat av is pretty popular lately

it's just something i thought of that came to life thanks to cheezwhiz. it's the official av of "Tosa's Anarcho-Syndicalist Squat & Overhead Collective".

I have nothing against it, obviously it is awesome, I was just wondering how Tosa felt about it. :)

Also 950th post, green belt, yay.

Going against the Sherdog norm, I'm glad you posted this, as I'm having the same problem (today) with my left calf muscle.

I had taken a week off from high intensity training, then went back at it Monday with a legs and back routine. Then Tuesday I jumped rope, which absolutely blew up my calves. Today I can't straighten the left one.

So for anyone who posted real advice, thanks, and for those being an ass for the sake of being an ass, you're a dime a dozen. Thanks for being original. :icon_conf

you missed my thread ! the one where i cried about smolov, how i had barely any use of my legs after the first day. i then updated it, i had to squat with what may have been the worst DOMS in my life. it needed a thread.... possibly ,maybe oh right no it didn't. with a little research and a use of the search function every single answer will be given.

ps
I know topics will be done over, but lets try to at least not have 7 duplicates in one freakin week. it's not that hard is it guys ? it's F*cking DOMS your not being shot at like some people are. here is a tip, eat sleep and a warm bath plus the foam roller may help. if not have a cup of man the f*ck up ! That's your last option and it sucks but it happens.

Thanks for taking time away from watching Oprah to let us know about your sore calves from jumping rope. I take any insult from a girl like you as a compliment.
