increased explosivness

    I have been tarining in grappling for some time now and have recently decided that I need to become more explosive to compete with some of the heavierguys that I have to roll with. I am 80 kg and have done no real weight training before, can I have some advice as to what kind of excersices I should be doing to help.

    Have you seen the Faq yet. That is a good place to start. The Olympic lifts like snatch, clean and jerk are very explosive.

    Also, we do have some Oly lifters who post logs here. take a look at some training logs. There have also been some form evaluation videos. Go back and look through older threads.

    I use the Bill Starr 5 x 5 program.

    I feel it has increased my strength and explosiveness considerably.
