There should be an open weight belt. You purist dont think a ton of casuals wouldnt buy a ppv to watch 280lb monster fight a 170 pound guy? Id pay for that.

@LouisBolanos we've been talking about this for the last couple of hours. Personally, I think there'd be a spike in PPV numbers for about two months, then a sharp drop in participation from the fighters. What do you reckon?
 
I know fans that would probably stop watching if that were the case. I really doubt it would increase sales at all. Adding weight classes helped the UFC grow.

Why not the best of both worlds?

Do what they did in Pride. Preserve weight classes, but allow open weight fun fights, or like ADCC, add "absolute division" on top of existing weight classes where everyone from all 63 genders and 16 weight classes can compete for the one true UFC belt.

I find your post insensitive and discriminatory against the 64th gender that someone made up and identified as today.

Agree, keep current weights for normal business but add an unrestricted class. My guess it would likely be dominated by big lhws who just stop cutting weight and don’t get fat. Bet it would have the least matches pulled at the last second so you could at least be sure of the fight instead of this weight cutting bs
