Why don't you hear people explaining how Lebron don't need to play anymore since he's loaded?

I know dribbling a basketball and getting punched in the face are two different things. But still.

If I had 400 million, I would not work another day for the rest of my life. Regardless, there are 100s of athletes the world over playing A-level sports who are way richer than Conor. Yet season after season they go through the physical grind, the traveling, the injuries to make millions more in addition to the millions they already have.

I personally would rather be in a 15 minute fight twice a year than travel to play 80 or so games.

Because it's easier and safer for Conor to not fight and he can't do cocaine every night if he has to pass a drug test

Conor would absolutely make more money if he were an active fighter.

You literally answered your question in your first sentence

Because it takes at least 5 years for an NBA player to get their first big contract. It takes close to 10 years to win their first championship or really build a legacy.

Because basketball practice doesn't give you brain damage.

it's called pride, you wont ever know what it feels like you beta cuck lol

getting punched isnt just harder, its bad for your health, why take the risk of becoming a drooling retard like ali if you are already rich?

Another thing, people don't get in to basketball for purely the money alone - this isn't fking MMA, you won't make it for just the money.

You actually got to really enjoy and appreciate the sport, only then will put in the hours everyday and become good enough to play at a higher level.

You already answered it, but I imagine working out in the gym day after day after day, to perform twice a year is a little more monotonous and gruelling than performing 80 times a year in front of adoring crowds cheering you on.

Getting punched is more painful. Being at the top in basketball is MUCH harder then being at the top in MMA

Legacy. Competitive athleted who have all the money in the world want to leave SOMETHING behind when they leave the sport they dedicated their whole lives too. Nobody will remember any of the years LeBron was the highest paid player in the league but they'll sure as hrll remember his 8 trips (or more) to the NBA finals and his wins losses. Sports. They'e great like that.

people seem to glamorize the mma lifestyle when they have to practice 300 days a month, can never get out of shape or risk losing a fight, have to market themselves, have to constantly travel, at the beck and call of dana white 24/7, no real control over their own image/marketing/scheduling while still having to try to make their opponent doesn't steal their livelihood. The only reason dana white is so upset conor is taking a break is because he sells in one night what other people can't do in one year.

Also, in basketball, retiring after like 5 years will seriously hurt your reputation for years to come because so much of team sports is about the city. Can you imagine all those kids jumping up and down thinking you are going to bring the team to the promise land only to have you tell them you will retire because you earn enough? MMA fighters don't have to worry about being a city's icon.
