Anderson Silva moving up to heavyweight and taking the belt from Brock Lesnar back when he was champ

OR

Israel Adesanya going to heavyweight and snatching the belt from Stipe Miocic.

IMO if Adesanya and coach Eugene go after Stipe then Israel will be the heavyweight champion. I know that makes many of you mad. The sheer thought of someone being so bold. But it's far from unlikely to me.

IMO Izzy vs Stipe is more realistic.

Anderson was dead serious about wanting to fight Frank Mir after Mir beat Nog

Well, Silva was probably getting taken down within seconds of fighting Brock and probably never getting up.

Juiced up, prime Silva had a shot against Murr though.

I'd like to see more from Adesanya first before i go thinking he can beat someone about 30-40 lbs heavier than he is.

Adesanya and Stipe have the same height and reach....

Adesanya is a FAR better stiker than Stipe and will have a tremendous speed advantage.

Stipe would need to rely on his wrestling to beat him. Stylebender is very much a live dog against Stipe.

either case would have been plausible

could a prime Anderson beat Brock? absolutely

could izzy beat Stipe NOW? absolutely

Anderson has a realistic chance of beating Brock. Brock wasn't very good, and his stand up is horrific. Anderson would have humiliated Mir. It would have looked like the Forrest fight.

Israel has almost no chance against Stipe. Israel also has the same odds as Anderson against Brock and Mir.

Izzy is slightly more realistic since he's still young and Anderson is at the end of his career and Brock has no business coming back to the UFC

Anderson would have had zero chance at beating any top HW

Neither scenario has much probability of ever happening

Even though I think prime Andy > Izzy at this point, and Stipe > Bork, I still think Andy somehow surviving vs Bork is less likely. Styles make fights and in this case that's a horrific style matchup for Andy

Were you saying this back then? When Brock had just destroyed Framk Mur and Anderson tooled Forest??? Back when Ed Soares originally talkta about Anderson at heavyweight.

Brock seemed to have scary potential

Yes. I have never rated Brock that highly. His strength as applied to MMA is way overrated. He could barely take down a 45 year old 220lb shell in Randy. Obviously he could take Anderson down. He could also get murked on the feet.

I wanted the fight but feared for Anderson, he would light Frank up but one takedown and its curtains. Israel is nowhere near prime Anderson for me, at least not yet.

Brock had a solid chin and was probably big enough to take Silva down at will.

At the sametime Israels ground game is still questionable to me.

Lesnars chin > Stipes
