In what realm do we live that fighters who were busted using PEDS are considered in the goat...

Discussions? I know that many beat the system but if u fail it also means that u r disqualified and and it’s more the likelihood of someone failing that he is been doing them for a long time especially if he is a champ, otherwise why would he use PEDS if he became a champ without them? So bottom line, Jones, Silva and Fedor ( since he fought in a no testing organization) should have their own discussion, goats with no regulations or something because u can’t have it both ways! Prove me wrong.

I agree with you. There should absolutely be an asterisk next to your name if you've failed multiple PED tests. There's a reason Barry Bonds isn't in the baseball hall of fame. It's cheating, plain and simple.

In b4 "b-but everyone is on PEDS!!11"

Everyone is not on PEDs as much as people wanna portray that just because their favorite fighter popped. The guys who used PEDs magically dominated their division aka Jones and Silva.

If you didn’t need them, you wouldn’t bother to take them. Believe it or not PEDs do make you an completely different fighter, strength, stamina, speed, power, explosiveness, confidence and mental strength, focus, aggressiveness, toughness, pretty much everything.

Khabib has also fought in organizations that did not test, thus can't be in the discussion either.

Fedor ( since he fought in a no testing organization)

He literally fought on a Pride card where Belfort, Randelman and Nastula were tested positive. He did not test positive either on his other fights on American soil. I don't see why he'd more suspicious than anyone else who didn't test positive while fighting outside of a fairly recent and limited USADA deal with the UFC.

Your logic is senseless as there are way more examples of guys who popped who were average to nediocre.

Another thing we know is that not getting caught isn't 100% proof you never used.
For example people try and say Anderson used hus whole career after the first single time he popped.

It's called Great of All Time (GOAT), not Greatest of the USADA Era.

PEDs were so rampant that people no longer did it to get an advantage, they did it to level the playing field.

You gotta remember how rigorous and demanding MMA training is too. It's like training multiple sports at the same time and each sport is designed for physical damage.

Fedor was he only one who fought in a truly even-playing field and dominated the best organization during his prime. Fedor has never cheated. He is the GOAT.
True but he started losing after he fought outside of Pride which means no goat

this. I can't tell if this is a legit thread or an attempt to troll Fedor fans. There is no proof Fedor ever broke any rules, nor was he ever suspected of it. Maybe he used PED in Pride but maybe not. It doens't matter though b/c it wasn't against the rules.

To me as long as everyone is on a level playing field then there is no asterisk.

But to the original point. A GOAT can't be a goat if they've failed drug tests. It's like @bref said with baseball. Though to be fair baseball is a bunch of old school grump old men set on "tradition" and "unwritten rules" but they do not recognize Bonds or Clemens for example as GOATS b/c they are both cheaters.

LOL
one more GSP nuthugger having a meltdown because someone else posted Conor thought of Silva to be #1 GOAT.

...and try to take Fedor as well... LOL

Cry all you want, hater.
It makes it just the sweeter.

Everything pre-July 2015 is a wash. Machida, OSP, Bonnar, Sonnen, Vitor, Hendo, Irvin, Marquardt, Leben - names who've fought Andy Silva and Jones all popped as well. And those are just the ones we know for sure. Rampage never popped, despite straight up admitting to being on TRT vs Bader: https://web.archive.org/web/2013052...-he-used-testosterone-therapy-for-bader-fight

Everything post-USADA is a legit problem, but JJ's only clear pop was vs DC and if you think anyone can make it to the Olympics being clean - I gotta bridge on Mars I wanna sell you. Add to it, DC was also perfectly willing to leave Stipe in darkness for the rest of his life just to get the HW belt. So selfish cheating isn't above him in any way.

Frankly, all the significant pre USADA champ reigns are more impressive cause those were wild days. There was no USADA to fuck with you, but there was also no USADA to protect you from others.

So, it's not as clear cut for me. If you pop now after USADA, especially years after the transitioning phase, then it's a smudge on your resume for sure, but I don't discount the achievements that came before it, and only frown slightly at the mess ups during the 2015-2017 rebuild.

Meh, they are all juicing anyway. TJ was on EPO during the entire USADA era and he only got caught a few years ago. How many others were never found? Look at Izzy's weird tit pic.

Jones and GSP are the best based on their records
DJ, Fedor and Anderson are a step below them but above everyone else
After that is Khabib and Cormier, etc...

DC shouldn't even be on that list. Aldo is way way way way way WAY higher than DC resume and skillset wise. I love DC too.
